1. He is supposed to be seeing the doctor right now to get results.
I had a phone call from him as he was leaving the hospital, and he was extremely happy that the X-rays, CAT scan and ultrasound were done.

2. I saw in a different thread that he's home from having had
some tests, but no results yet. He sounded relieved to have the tests behind him.

3. Gall bladder stones
Edited on Mon Feb-14-05 05:34 PM by govegan
I just talked to Andy. The docs want to cut out his gall bladder. Typical med. establishment reaction.

Andy will have a choice. Fortunately, we have a friend who specializes in gall bladder flushes. This is a natural, non-invasive and revolutionary way to being well. I have seen the results and listened to the testimonies.

I will be meeting with Andy later this afternoon (pacific time). If you care about Andy, pray for us. He will have a choice to make.

5. Having a gallbladder removed is not a huge surgery
Edited on Mon Feb-14-05 05:48 PM by Horse with no Name
I understand homeopathic medicine but feel this is a strong consideration.
With a flush, you might temporarily fix the problem, but is likely to recur and sometimes with dire results (infection causing sepsis, pancreatitis, etc) and a recurrence of what he is going through now but taking it out is generally a very easy surgery and is permanent so no recurrences of this problem.
Best of luck to him making the decision and hope he is feeling better soon!

6. This isn't homeopathic medicine
This is about self-healing and treating the body with the respect it deserves.

The best hospitals and surgeons in the world leave patients with infections and complications all the time.

I seriously doubt that the problem would recur with more seriousness as a result of the healing process. If one undergoes a treatment and lives with abandon afterwords (a not unheard of reaction in our society), diseases and illness may recur. That has no relation whatsoever to the healing process.

Despite what the medical establishment and corporate shills may say, living without a gall bladder is not a trivial matter. It is not at all like having the appendix removed.

"No recurrences of this problem." True. If my foot aches, I could cut it off. Surely, I would never be bothered with that foot aching me again.

8. HWNN, maybe we're all just a little tense.
I know I wanted to start bugging for info after my first cup of java.

Andy is a smart man. With enough support, he will make fine choices re his next steps.

11. Thanks. You have one too.
Invasive medicine has its place. Doctors can do marvelous healing as well.

This treatment does not just remove gall bladder sludge. I have seen the stones that are passed, and the exclamations of wonder by those who have passed them.

I hope you are doing well today, as well.

Andy, or anyone, will generally be much, much more encouraged to weigh the invasive methodologies of modern medicine. I desire for Andy to enjoy health and well being as well. He will have every opportunity to weigh all his options.

I have seen so many results of the failures of modern medicine that I would need more time than I have been given to recount them all.

"This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals. Despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown." - Walt Whitman

9. More information on self-healing
" Knowing that Nature is our primary healer, we use the cutting edge principles of OrganicAlive Nutrition and Detoxification to provide you an experience that is rejuvenating, relaxing, healing and educational. The following retreat packages are centered around the wisdom, insight and work of Ann Wigmore and Annie and David Jubb PhD. Our facilitators offer guidance through a palette of modalities and experience to help you achieve your health goals."

The Gallbladder Cleanse is a nutritional program designed to cleanse the gallbladder naturally, by gently releasing the toxic stones that impair proper digestion. The recipient of the flush eats specially prepared foods for five days prior to the actual flush. The benefits of this treatment include detoxification of the gallbladder and lower abdominal tract. This treatment also relieves pressure from the heart, liver, eyes and lungs.

Will Andy be up to this?

What is the alternative?

Why should we knowingly support the very establishment that is so heavily invested in our sickness and our addictions?

We vote not only at the ballot box,, but everyday with the money we spend, the services which we invest in.

Who deserves your dollars? Monsanto, ADM, IBP, big oil, agrichemical corporations? Or those who nurture the land, who invest in sustainability, who see beyond their bank account balances, who would have future generations experience the earth's abundance, who treat and compensate fairly those whose hands harvest the tenderness of the vine?

We have a democracy to heal. How can we do that if we are ill and loaded with toxins?

10. Holistic health care at Bastyr University near Seattle
I believe they have clinics there. People who are top in their fields. Good thinkers. Politically trustworthy, which is important in his care. Check it out.

A second opinion at Bastyr, at the very very least.
They're good.

16. Just his gallbladder.
I think that is a big relief for him and us who care about him.
I have known 5 people who had their gallbladders removed.
As someone else says, it is not a trivial matter to live without one, but at this stage of his disease, it MAY be his best option at the moment.
If it were simply pains here was experiencing, then he might have the time to try holistic methods (of which I am 100% in favor of! My best friend is a Chiro, and he works wonders!).
But in this case, the knife may be best.
GB removal today is almost trivial, to be honest.
Anyways, I am glad to hear, so far, his prognosis.
