since only one Rep and one Senator are required to force the debate, I suppose the others don't want to take any unnecessary political risks...

8. I wondered the same thing.
I didn't realize they split up right after the objection. So, if they had more than one, they'd have to split up more than once. What happened to the last messages on the other thread? I can't get to them anymore?

Darn -- I have a Dr. appointment at 3:30 and will miss when they come back. I'm taping C-SPAN 1 at home, though, so guess I'll see it later.
