Frankly, after all the hype by Kerry campaign re: counting each vote -
. . .I thought we'd be still celebrating a Kerry election.

(that is if you were asking about "getting this far" from a pre-election view point.)

1. I'm amazed at the power of 'we the people.' Now if we could only
get the same support from our leaders!

2. The leaders best be listening
because it's in THEIR best interest. They need to remember that those we send to congress CAN be brought back home.

3. You beat me to it.
I was mulling over posting something like "Think back to Nov. 3 and realize how far we've come."

It's astounding, and terrifying, that such a small group -- of which we are part -- is about to make history, and that it would not have happened without the "little guys."

That's the truth.

Think of what would NOT have happened, had we all given up that day. It's really frightening to think what a close call this was.

I would dearly love for there to be multiple Senators and at least one Republican, for the challenge to be so eloquent and convincing that the GOP has little choice but to go along or look to be pro-fraud, and for whatever comes next to be postponed until this horrid thing can be investigated in DEPTH.

But whatever happens, the issue is not going away. If Senators challenge, that means that our issue has been legitimized in a BIG way. Even if the GOP votes it down, I think our Dems are going to be investigating the mess and drafting real legislation on this. Kerry for one promised that and I say we hold his feet to the fire on it.

We have come far.

We may lose tomorrow's battle, in the sense of getting the electors rejected, but we are going to WIN the war. I can feel it.

4. This far?
I'd call this no progress at all. I'm serious. We failed to stop the electoral college vote, we failed to get a full recount, and now we're counting on senators mounting a symbolic gesture.

We're basically where we were on November 3rd. Basically, this whole thing is like the first day of the Somme offensive.

6. I disagree. The community isn't counting on anything - we're entrenched

and in it for the long haul.

Whatever happens, the line must be drawn here. And no further.

And now, the enemy has a face, a presence, and has violated the most fundamental piece of our Democracy - free and fair elections. And we've taken action in an unprecedented way.

7. What action?
Please tell me the 150-person protests and spamming of senators isn't it.

8. To even describe it in one way or another would omit a whole other angle
Suffice it to say, we are realizing we have a stake, in a way we were too complacent to care about, while the Right co-opted all of our symbols and ideas.

Now, at the height of their hubris and self-aggrandizement, their own actions have provided the impetus for their eventual removal and prosecution.

Now, it's up to us. The momentum has shifted. The time is now.

10. How about just bringing us up to date on...
...ONE "angle" FReep? - or is that asking too much? "The time is now", indeed...

11. There were over 900 people at the columbus rally
and the senators phone lines have been jammed for a day, our senators are about to do something that hasn't been done for 40 years...tell me this is small. This is the second election GW will be selected in.
