It has come to my attention that, for the second time, the I BELIEVE thread is becoming unwieldy for some users. The first thread has 800 posts; the second one is up to 439, for a total of over 1200 posts!
6. I believe too!!! Clearly John Kerry is biding his time...
And he will come out when the 1st Senator (Obama?) speaks out.
Kerry always had integrity and he is clearly playing a wise waiting game. I think that when the trickle of officials finally get off their duffs and call a Rose a Rose and summarize and document the proof of the election Fraud, JK and JE will come out from the shadows to announce their (sad) duty to take the Presidency (and VP) that has been "thrust upon them by the electorate."
I can almost hear his "more in sorrow than in anger" speech as he steps up to accept his rightful place as the duly elected President of The United States.
And I can FINALLY breathe freely, since I will AT LAST be able to breathe the air of a Free Country under its DULY AND FREELY ELECTED President.
Of course, on Jan 6 (and then Jan 20), I will be able to enjoy the agony of those Rightist/self-Righteous SOBs who have been so arrogant since the election they tried to steal.
35. Will you please stop peeing in my cornflakes??
Honestly, Walt - you've made it perfectly clear how you feel. Why do you feel the need to come into a thread which you obviously disagree with in order to make negative comments and attempt to stir up trouble? Why not start your own thread "I don't believe." See how many responses you get.
41. Do you think YOU are the only one to recognize that probability?
If so, we don't need your condescension nor your insults to our intelligence. We dont need YOU to look out for our "well-being" either, if that is truly what you are trying to do. And you are not just disputing the chance that Kerry could be inagurated, you are denying there was fraud in this election on thread after thread. What do YOU believe is the most constructive and productive thing to be working on right now?
Jim Crow voter disenfranchisement, precincts with over 95% voter turnout, disappearing and appearing votes, magically altered exit poll data, tens of thousands of voter complaints, partisan controlled voting equipment, voting machine techies confessions, and democratic office break-ins before election day can all be discounted because Saint B*sh stole it and will never give it back.
73. In case anyone didn't hear me bouncing and screaming...

...I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
As a pagan, I believe that we are creating a cone of power with this thread that is sending out a rising tide of belief that will sweep all the liars into its wake and leave them crying and bewildered (just like we were on November 3).
SO MOTE IT BE
on edit: not trying to invoke the tsunami disaster; it's just the best image I can use to express it
I think it is TXindy's fault( among other's that caught on quick) that we could only have a litlle over 400 posts in the last thread because she has those big pictures more so this time than last thread. LOL
TxINDY keep those hilarious pics coming! we need them especially right now.
justice will be serve - a big phat elephant on a big phat tray as our main course.
108. Oops. Okay, how about trying something else here
Can you right-click on the area of the picture and choose 'View Image'? (If you're using Netscape or Firefox, that is.) Or you could go here to see it: worth1000.com/entries/79500/79772JOqn_w.jpg Just put a www in front of that address to make a link.
Any luck? It's monkeys. Flying monkeys. In spiffy uniforms. ;)
Sometimes pics from other posters don't come through for me, either, and I have to do some arm and hand-waving to get more than a little, red x. It's a puzzlement.
I have been lurking along time...working my fingers to a nub contacting Senator's. Been trying to sign on for the better part of the week now, kept getting error messages. I am on board now and could not think of a better place for my very first post. You all have been my rock during these dark days.
I never have lost faith that Kerry would be inaugurated President 44. My doubt is as to the date. I'd love for it to be January 20 when the town is decked out in regalia for the shrub but have a feeling that it will be February 21. For this reason, I haven't bought my plane ticket yet.
110. I believe in Presidents who are honestly elected, I believe in
counting all the votes, I believe in fair elections, I believe that John Kerry will be our 44th President. I believe the THIEF in CHIEF must go. I believe I can't wait for tomorrow. I believe. It's Jan. 5th, 2005 and I still believe in John Kerry and John Edwards. Hope is on the way!
116. I BELIEVE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY WILL BE REBORN TOMORROW.
I'm going to be wet and cold since I'm dragging my ass downtown to Lafayette Park and then Capitol Hill. I'm doing this because when just one Democrat leader stands up, we will all be reborn as a political unit. It will rock our world and the country will take notice.
We will stop being doormats and turn into junk yard dogs.
everyone.I am writing my 1000th post at 200pm just after keenedy finished his 5 minute speech, I feel inspired by his words and think that he cares as much as us about democracy and that he will fight for it.
I believe we succeeded today and I can not believe how the boards are going wild. I am amazed at the people here at DU and I continue to be amazed at the things we were willing to try to accomplish even before we knew there was a flicker of hope.
Now Bush is disgraced and the whole world will watch us humiliate our selected president and try to mend our democracy. No ore bragging about mandates for that chimp.
This has been an interesting journey we have travelled so far and I look forward to the next 1000 posts.Especially since a few of our fellow believers have been cracking me up lately especially noted Seito,Class warrior, TxIndy, Sparky IN MA, and Revcheesehead.
I Believe in the power of the American people. I know that we won this past election and that truth just got a HUGE boost. I Believe in President-Elect John Kerry. I believe in every single American that worked so hard to give us this day in history.
toledo Sparky the boards were so jammed today you could hardly do anything. threads were going from 0 posts to 200 posts in no time.
you probably know that boxer was the only one to contest and a few dems supported her(but did not contest, like clinton and obama and a couple others, but then voted no at the end to contest( in the senate.)
Most of us are overjoyed at history being made and that this is the first time an election has been contested since 1877. I personally believe that Bush will be going down soon.
the sun has set on this day and one day kids will read about this in their textbooks at school about the fraud and what we knew and did not know. We still have to fight for our democracy and fight for what is just, and our more basic right as Americans.
we must vow to open the eyes and ears of others and help them see what we see.The sun will set one day in the near future when i am sure justice will be served.
...that the election is over. I held out hope as long as I could. I appreciate the faith in and support of Senator Kerry in this thread, but I can no longer say I believe that he will be inaugurated on Jan. 20.
Congratulations on the perseverance you've all demonstrated, but apparently Senator Kerry's concession speech was the real deal.
I've enjoyed these threads, but it is now time to move on to dealing with a second term of W. I urge you all to shine as Americans, and try not to think about partisan politics, but rather think of what you can do to make America great, then go out and do it.
I've debated as to whether I should just slink away from this thread or to make my own little concession speech, and decided to go with the latter. Again, thanks for supporting the cause of the Democratic Party, and Senator Kerry's candidacy. Use that fervor and passion discovered during the recent campaign to make a difference- in your community and in your country.
I think Senator Kerry will continue to work behind the scenes to uncover any injustice that occurred on Election Day, and will also do his best to serve his constituents and the nation at large. In that sense, he still has our back.
Until next time, this is Doohickie, signing off. Adios.
I may keep tabs on things but doubt I will become too involved until new elections are imminent. This place has awakened me politically. I want to understand the positions of the Party so I can defend them, and want to be more personally involved in subsequent elections. I will continue to display my Kerry and Texas Democrat bumper stickers. My involvement on this board is not nearly as important as my involvement in future political campaigns. I will no doubt return from time to time when I get fed up with being a Blue voter in a Red state, but I need a break.
FWIW, I guess you never noticed that I donated to DU for you to get you a star so that you could join us in the Kerry Group. I guess I should have been more overt in letting you know. I wanted it to be anonymous, but in light of your posts today, I thought you should know that at the very least, someone believed in YOU. It was my way of showing my appreciation to you for starting this thread.
I haven't stopped believing.
For the record, I have been doubtful all along that Kerry would literally be inaugurated on January 20, 2005, but I've felt that the message of this thread was more powerful than doubt. And I still believe that. I am still burning my candles.
185. Doohickie - thank you for your threads of inspiration and faith.
Not in a fairy tale, but in a man, a man that I still believe in. Folks look at Kerry as if he let them down, not me. I think his being in Iraq the first week of the 109th's session is like flipping the **admin the bird. He's not sitting around begging for some seat on one of their token committees, he is carrying on in his quest for the truth about Iraq and the mess that the weed that would be king has got us in.
He will come back and give the weed hell! He won't make his life easy and he will fight for all of us.
I dance with the man that brung me, and I still happily (though only figuratively, sigh) dance with John F. Kerry.
Rest Doohickie - we will continue the fight and will continue to believe.
for starting these wonderful threads. I was only a lurker until I saw the first thread. It brought me out of the gloom I had the day after the election. You helped bring hope to us, and maybe we'll be able to use it to take back our country.:yourock:
You did us all a great service when you started the "I Believe" series of threads. We may not get our inauguration wish this month, but I won't give up on the fraud investigations and lawsuits. Not a chance.
All the best. I know what it's like being blue in red Texas. There are far more of us than they realize, though, and that bodes well for our future.
I would like to thank you for believing and giving so many people a safe place to come and believe when there was so much going on out there. It was threads like yours and also the activists threads that kept me coming back day after day to seek positive thoughts and send out more emails to congress.
So If it wasn't for you I wonder if we would have had enough positive thinking to be able to do what we did yesterday. That was the first step to see that Bush gets impeached, I betcha he lost his mandate because of it.This has not happened since 1877 doohickie,we made real progress and I can attribute some of that to you for keeping some people here who might have slipped through the cracks.
I hope you come around for the next I believe thread ,it might have a different overall goal, but the same positive tones.I hope you can start it,but if you must go(do you mind if we put your name in there somewhere? You will be missed.
190. You know, I learned a lot about concession speeches today
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 09:42 PM by Doohickie
When I wrote my little piece, it was, at least in spirit, a concession speech. Even when a campaign is over, though, there is still work to be done. I hope that came across. I am not giving up on Kerry; I think he's a good man. I'm not giving up on the Democratic Party; it is the party of the people. I am not giving up on America; it is the greatest country on Earth. I believe there is an element of our populace that has forgotten what makes us great; I hope to remind them.
I will be around here from time to time, and will respond to personal messages. But really, I need a break. Maybe a week or two (maybe I'll come back after the inauguration; believe it or not, I still have the slimmest of hopes that Kerry will be there with bells on).
It is humbling for me that my idea caught on as a bit of a rallying cry. I'm glad I gave some people hope. Even if John Kerry does not take the Oath this month, I still have great hope for America. The concept of America is too big and durable to be compromised by small band of misguided politicians.
Perhaps Kerry won't be inaugurated this month, but I STILL BELIEVE in AMERICA.
*cue cheesy patriotic music as Doohickie exits, stage left*
I hope that we all will believe that we can change things for the better. I do believe in John Kerry. I believe in Election Reform. I believe in continuing to ask, "What are they hiding?" I believe we all still believe something good will come out of all of this.
I believe that the power of this thread was something unique that had widespread implications.
Even while we are willing to let go of a set date and time, in the glow of the Congressional challenge to the Ohio electors, an historic interruption of the election for two hours to talk about broken elections, and recognizing the vast distance that has been covered, I know this:
We still believe.
We believe that history will show that John Kerry received more votes in the election of 2004.
We believe that the forces of anti-democratic greed that made this travesty possible, along with the ones preceding it, have peaked in their power. Their crimes are coming to light. True democracy, America's greatest gift to itself and the world, will triumph.
So I'd like to see this tradition continue. We wouldn't even have to change the title.
