Kerry Preparing Grounds to Unconcede

Election Challenge likely on Jan 6th

BreakForNews.com, 24th Dec, 2004 23:00ET
by Fintan Dunne, Editor EXCLUSIVE
http://www.breakfornews.com/articles/KerryPreparingGrou...

If you haven't been following John Kerry closely, get ready to hear of surprising developments. The vote-defrauded, potential president-in-waiting has just indicated through his lawyer that the validity of George Bush's reelection is no longer a given.

On 23 December, 2004 Kerry's lawyer confirmed to MSNBC's 'Countdown' that John Kerry will be seeking (likely on Monday 27 Dec.) to expedite court proceedings in an ongoing recount suit by the Green and Libertarian parties. That might sound like just another "count every vote" exercise by the Kerry campaign, were it not for two important details.

Kerry's court filing will conjoin him to existing allegations that Triad Systems, a Republican-linked supplier of voting machines to around half of Ohio counties --"orchestrated" a covert campaign to thwart a legitimate recount in Ohio. If the allegation proves well founded, it could invalidate the Ohio recount and eventually even hand the presidency to John Kerry.

Which probably explains the second critical detail: a quiet, on the record bombshell statement to 'Countdown' by Daniel Hoffheimer, the Cincinnati lawyer representing the Kerry campaign in Ohio.

Previously, the Kerry Campaign's intent in Ohio seemed to be merely an exercise of American civic spiritedness.

Two weeks ago, when Kerry wrote to Ohio's 88 county boards of election asking to visually inspect some ballots, Donald McTigue, the lawyer handling the recount for the Kerry campaign said: "We're trying to increase the transparency of the election process."

In early December, when the Kerry Campaign joined a suit by Green and Libertarian party candidates seeking a recount in Delaware County, Daniel Hoffheimer said Kerry wasn't disputing President Bush's victory in Ohio. The aim was to make sure any recount was "done accurately and completely," Hoffheimer said.

Now MSNBC 'Countdown' reports the same Hoffheimer, in comments on their imminent filing in the Ohio recount, concluding their call for a scrupulous recount with this caveat:

"...Only then can the integrity of the entire electoral process and the election of Bush/Cheney warrant the public trust."

That's the first time the Kerry Campaign has impugned the legitimacy of Bush's reelection.

http://www.edwardsdavid.com/BushVideos/Obermann_041223-...

RECOUNT CHEAT SHEETS

It's a signal move, likely driven by emerging evidence of suspicious activity by representatives of Triad Systems during the recount in Ohio. Evidence which has led a senior Democrat, ranking House Judiciary Cmtee. member, John Conyers Jr. to accuse the boss of Triad Systems of "orchestrating" a criminal conspiracy to pervert the outcome of the Ohio recount.

The allegations first surfaced before an Ohio hearing convened by Conyers on behalf of Democratic Minority members of the House Judiciary Committee. An affidavit filed by Sherole Eaton, Hocking County deputy director of elections, stated that a Triad representative had told her "how to post a 'cheat sheet' on the wall so the ...count would come out perfect and we wouldn't have to do a full hand recount of the county."

That account has been corroborated by other officials and by extracts from a video documentary in which a Triad technician admits that the company was in possession of computer "backup" copies of the official election data.

SIGNAL, THEN MANEUVER

If the recount was fraudulent, does that have implications for the validity of the first count in Ohio? The Kerry campaign knows full well that it does. That's why their latest statement questions the "integrity" of the "entire" electoral process. And the election of Bush/Cheney.

For Kerry, a fraudulent recount in Ohio could be an open door into to the Oval Office. Already, John Conyers is confident that a few U.S. Senators will join House members on January 6 to question the November 2 election.

But don't expect Kerry to quickly rush to a microphone in order to unconcede. He doesn't have to. His unconcession will take effect by default.

If the Ohio recount is shown fraudulent, the domino effect could carry him through that door without claiming victory or even unconceding.

Simply by allowing Bush's claim on the Office of President to fall --piece by fraudulent piece. Nudging the dominoes to topple in the right way.

Thus leaving Kerry, poised to step into office over the Bush debris.

52. You won't find anything yet...
Only Countdown reported the Kerry intent to file papers in support of the Green/Lib case.

And they even truncated the Kerry statement --as we see from the three dots "..." before the word "Only." I'd love to see the rest.

Most people will not hear of the Kerry legal move until Tuesday.

Possibly only the votefraud crew here (!) and Keith Olbermann understand the dynamics of all this. The media got a lot of catch-up to do.

129. On February 5, 2003, could you find ANYTHING in the...
...U.S. mainstream news that would have led you to believe that Colin Powell's speech to the United Nations on Iraq "weapons of mass destruction" was a complete crock of crap from first word to last?

I found a web site in Russia that cast some doubt on it. Finally, I found Scoop in NZ, the BBC and a few other news sources OUTSIDE THIS COUNTRY that were reporting what the UN weapons inspectors, Scott Ritter, France, Germany and the rest of the world thought about it. (Also, Democracy Now--radio.)

Now, granted, it's a problem when the USMSM doesn't report something. They thereby create an alternative reality in which a 100% crock of crap replaces the truth. I have a very smart sister who believed Colin Powell. That's what they do. They can suck in even the smart.

It took about a year for the truth to leak into the country under the Iron Curtain of the MSM, at which point Americans voted these liars, thieves and mass murderers out of office, in overwhelming numbers. And now THIS story is not being reported.

But I repeat, it is a PROBLEM when the USMSM doesn't report something. But their not reporting it does not make it unreal. It just makes it a problem to be solved (a big one, granted).

Everyone in the US including the MSM--even including most diehard Bushites (not that it makes any difference to them)--now understand that THERE WERE NO WMDS IN IRAQ. How did that happen? By tough investigative journalism by the MSM? By the MSM pounding the administration every day with relentless questions? By Dan Rather asking every night at the conclusion of the news: Mr. Bush, where are the "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq?

Ha, ha, ha. Don't we wish!

No, it happened much like THIS story is happening--with relentless BLOGGERS running down the truth, with people in New Zealand and Canada helping out, with reports in the Vermont Guardian and the Lone Star Iconoclast--and two or three other tiny but independent US newspapers--and a few stray radio shows (i.e., Demcracy Now), and a few courageous whistleblowers who would not shut up....etc.

We really have to change the name we use for the MSM. They are NOT mainstream. They are only "mainstream illusion creating." But that's a mouthful (the "mainstream illusion creating media"--MICM).

Let's start a contest.

The Pandering Media. PM.
The War Mongering Media. WMM.
The Kiss Bush's Ass and Make a Profit Media. KBAMPM. (pronounced Ka Bamp 'em).
The Corporate Propaganda Media. CPM.
The War and Hairdo Media. WAHM.
The Tax Cuts for the Rich Media. TCRM.
The Tax Cuts for the Rich and Propaganda Media. TCRAP media.
The Truth Is What We Say It Is Media. TIWWSIIM (as in "twist 'em"--not bad).
The Media of the Matrix. M&M.
The US-only media. USOM.
The Forget What You Heard Yesterday Media. FWYHYM.

I liked SCLM quite a lot, because I pronounced it to myself as "Scum." (..."so-called liberal media"--for those who don't know this great acronym).

But I think I like this one the best (my first hit): the "mainstream illusion creating media"--MICM. (--could be pronounced "mike 'em").

I'm going to start using it.

If John Kerry takes on this great task--the task of invading the MICM with the truth--it will not take a year (as with Iraq WMDs). It could happen in the next two weeks.

If he doesn't, it will be harder and take longer.

The 2000 Election Fraud has a similar lies-to-truth arc as Iraq WMDs. This time, though, the consequences of accepting a second fraudulent election are far more serious as to long term demoralization of the American people.

They need quick action, quick revelation--which gives them a chance themselves to fight this regime, to rally to the cause-- which I am sure they will do--their only problem is THEY DON'T KNOW!

I like "downstream media." They just flow with whatever Rove-Goebbels dumps in them. And it has a kind of nice polluted connotation.

Alternatively, American Pravda or Murkin Pravda.

"The Kiss Bush's Ass and Make a Profit Media. KBAMPM. (pronounced Ka Bamp 'em)." -- LMAO!

You may rant anytime you'd like PeacePatriot, because you are correct -- the truth will never get out with this sham of a "free press" (hmm, kinda like "freeper," no?).

My biggest issue with the lazy-ass media is that most of what is pawned off as "news" is a bunch of long-winded opiners, force feeding us their personal views and people thinking it is Gospel. That alone is an issue. Why isn't there a disclaimer at the beginning of these shows saying, "The opinions expressed in this program are those of the these long-winded blowhards and do not reflect actual FACTS?"

Keep up the good work! A Verry Kerry Christmas to you and yours.

242. John Kerry's Ohio Recount - "Afraid To Flirt Because I Might Fall In Love"
The news of an Ohio recount going in John Kerry's favor, thus sending him into the White House is like a dream. At 15 I know that the stakes in this election were and still are higher than they have ever been.

My support for John Kerry in this election was overwhelming. i attended his final rally in Dayton, Ohio at fifth third field. I was optimistic that on Nov 2 Ohio was gonna go for John Kerry, sending him to the White house, it failed. I was the most disappointed I think i have ever been in my life. I for weeks had trouble concentrating in school and day to day activities. The reason, i wanted it more. Both of my parents have lost their OHIO manufacturing jobs in the past four years. At 15 I work at a restaurant making 2.1 an hour just to help out with my part in bills around the house. I know John Kerry had and still has what it takes to lead this country, but I don't think its gonna happen, for at least another four years.

I would love to flirt with the idea of an Ohio recount putting John Kerry in the White House, but I am afraid of falling in love. I am afraid of this false hope leading me into another state of doubt and reflection. I believe, much to my dismay, George Bush will be inaugurated on Jan. 20. The tickets for it has already been sold and its all planned out. Unfortunately, leading Republicans in Ohio will have the results certified probably by the end of the week. Thats just how the Republicans are though, they cannot win an election unless they steal an election.

It is now our duty as the Democrats of the future to look ahead and remain optimistic that America's best days are yet to come. In 2008, should he decide to run again, I will have Senator Kerry's back, just as he had all of ours, and I hope you all do to.

Thank-You
Corey Baker

35. Based on these facts reported.
Edited on Sat Dec-25-04 12:19 AM by BreakForNews
William, I'm basing it on the following developments:

--The statement by Kerry lawyer Hoffheimer reported on Countdown is "Real," and ends on an entirely new note for the Kerry campaign. Judging that is a question of experience of the way politicians say things between lines. For me, it a signal change of tone.

--Countdown confirms your exclusive report (Thanks!) on the upcoming filing of papers by Kerry in support of the Green/Lib recount case --with specific reference to Triad and expedited discovery.

--Conyers confirms to BlackCommentator that he will have no problem with getting enough people to stand up and be counted on Jan 6th.

--Conyers writes a "stinker" of a letter to Triad boss -wherin he makes the allegation that the company's actions amounted to "an invitation to thwart the recount" -such an "invitation," if proven, would mean Triad complicity in criminal vote fraud as an accessory before the fact. Conyers pulls no punches.

--Meanwhile Arnebeck and Bonifaz are pounding away at the Ohio Supreme Court.

--And we have the Triad tech on video -whose admissions I cover in our audio and to whom Conyers refers in his letter to Triad.

Quite a head of steam we are building up here....
Maybe the train is gonna pull out of the station soon... : )

On Thursday, the Chicago Tribune reported that in a conference call with journalists John Conyers said that Kerry had conceded the presidential election much too soon.

Kerry conceded too soon, Jackson asserts

BY JOHN BEBOW
Chicago Tribune

(KRT) - Claiming Ohio's 2004 election results were more troubling than Florida's four years ago, the Rev. Jesse Jackson on Thursday said Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry called it quits too soon.

"Kerry conceded much too quickly, before the facts were in," Jackson said in a conference call with reporters to discuss an ongoing challenge to Ohio's election results.

That report influenced my take on what is going on, but I omitted to include it in the article above when posting on DU.

I have now added that sentence to the online version.

61. It snowed here in 78? Really?
I moved here from Boston in 90 where it really DID Snow in 78 (and 79 and 80 and ....)!

I've got to say that living in a city where the main newspaper believes that it's front page news that to announce the Christmas pig roasting store has moved to a better neighborhood is, I have to admit, rather distressing. Not sure if you caught the Herald this morning. Was about to write one of my "might there be anything else more important going on in the world besides the damn pigs being roasted at Christmas?" letters, but decided to give them a break. The last time I wrote to complain about the Diana exhibit getting front page center on the day the Green Zone was bombed in Baghdad), didn't get printed anyway. Ah that Miami Herald. Always a new and different twist on reality.

Merry Creemah to you too!

January 19, 1977 Snow in Miami; Broward is also dusted, along with most of Florida.

Now, mind you "snow" may have been pushing it, but the Herald's headline may have been in an even bigger point size than: Nixon Resigns!

Puh-leeze Sweetie, Darling. The Herald f'n blows!

Keep Dave Barry, Carl Hiaasen and the Herald Hunt, and toss the rest into the birdcage.

I hope it was a good one and you received lots of nice prezzies. Did your kiddle have a good time?

Dave Barry does indeed still work here as does Carl Hiaasen. Edna is sadly gone and I believe (though I haven't read that birdcage liner in-depth for a while) Liz Balmaseda (a Pulitzer Prize winner for Commentary) is still there. Tom Fiedler, who used to be a columnist for our now-defunct Sunday mag, "Tropic," is good. Dave Barry used to appear in the Tropic section. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/columnists /

Every year Dave and Tom (along with a previous editor, Gene Weingarten) do a "Hunt" http://www.vwtech.com/tropichunt /. I was lucky enough to meet him at several. He's just walking around... Those four things and the comics page can stay. The rest can go.

171. That's What I've Believed For Weeks
I'm no lawyer but after the Supreme Court ruled to stop the Florida count in December of 2000, I've developed a good sense for election law maneuvers. Kerry has been preparing to do this for a year! It's just that now, over the holiday weekend, we see some the evidence on which that strategy is based.

Kick for Kerry!

44. I'm saying...
That that this imminent filing by Kerry & the developing TriadGate
issue --is leading Kerry/Conyers/Jackson/Et al down the road to
the destruction of the validiity of Bush's "election."

Unconceding without ever saying the "U" word.

Politically speaking, Kerry issuing an Un-Concession statement would be political ineptitude.

He is not going to do it by word. He doesn't need to.

Kerry is set to unconcede by deed on Monday when he files
to secure evidence and expedite discovery, against the background
of all the current developments.

If all these people are not talking to each other, the
coherence of purpose I see must be arising accidentally.

Or else the next month is going to be very interesting.

I think that Kerry should shortly say the "Unconcede" word or something very like it:

NOT :
"...Only then can the integrity of the entire electoral process and the election of Bush/Cheney warrant the public trust."???

RATHER:

"...We now see the lack of integrity in the entire electoral process and the so-called election of Bush/Cheney should be overturned."

141. First, the Ohio election must be shown to have been fraudulent beyond ..
a shadow of a doubt AND that the outcome was, in effect, altered AND that Kerry would have won if the fraud had not taken place.

All the wishful thinking during all of history cannot make such an event transpire. It will take work, real work, hard work, lots of work. And then only if the case is true will the work not have been for naught.

Many people are cheering, looking in all the wrong places, recounting the same ballots as before, etc. I keep waiting for some real work product. I don't see it. Glimmers on the horizon should not distract from seeking the facts.

There are some clues about where to inquire further. What's with the perfect inverse correlation in paperless voting?

An almost perfect -1.0 (actually -0.9994)! Why is this so? Is the answer to be found in the other voting methods? Is this normal?

Is a case being made? I mean answers, not wishful grasping at straws. The strawman can't take any more of this, it's killing him!!

We seem to be finding some disturbing patterns in Cuyahoga. Can anyone figure out what really tranpired there. Please help. Read this thread and see if you can come up with a useful insight:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

What happened with the issue of ballots presorted by candidates in the recount? I can think of one reason for that, to swap the ballots from one precinct to another without leaving a statistical trail of other votes -- Badnarik, Peroutka, and Non-Votes. In effect, there are only two ballot orders, one where Kerry and Bush votes can be swapped, one not so. Sorting out the ballots, then swapping Bush and Kerry ballots across precincts while not swapping the ones with third party votes would not leave the trail of statistically anomalous other votes.
How certain are we that ballots were counted in the correct precinct?

Of course, if there's only one ballot type...

In Cuyahoga, why does John Kerry average 74% of the vote in locations with one ballot order and 53% in the locations with 5 ballot orders?

Precinct cross-voting leaves a trail. Is the rate the same everywhere? NO. Why? Why are the highest percentages of non-votes in the precincts that have high Kerry support?

Are these patterns found in other counties?

Why is there such a difference in results sorted by voting machines?

Hard work BY MANY PEOPLE can answer these questions. Don't let glimmers on a distant horizon distract from the work. Ask questions and seek answers. Back to work.

Oh, I forgot, Happy Solstice.

In the third graph (Result sorted by voting machines), the three types of machines are probably heavily correlated with party demographics -- i.e., most op-scan machines were probably in Rethug counties/precincts etc...

240. Correct, And they are not equal.
As such, one or another candidate benefits. Imagine the Ohio technologies in the WA state governors race.

The number of non-votes is a good indication of the disparity in technologies. In some counties, one percent less votes actually count than in other counties! Like in Cuyahoga with a good portion of the statewide vote.

The tone of the broadside by Conyers in his letter to

This is looking like TriadGate

By the way, it's purely coincidental, but Conyers is not just any lawyer,
"hes a Watergate lawyer, having sat on the same Judiciary

90. Notice the co-location of "Rapp Systems". Check the following link..
....and get ready for a little extra joy:

"The votes in Ohio are officially re-counted and tallied 10 days after Election Day, Tod A. Rapp, the man who wrote the software that tabulates the votes in nearly half the counties in Ohio, told American Free Press. The outstanding provisional ballots are only counted after that, Rapp said.

Rapp, the founder of Triad Governmental Systems, Inc. of Xenia, Ohio, wrote the computer program that tallies the punch-card ballots in the centralized counting systems used in 41 counties in Ohio. Rapp, whose sons now manage the family run company, is a generous supporter of the Republican Party and the presidential campaign of George W. Bush."

Link:
http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/vote_fraud.html

Tod Rapp -- Rapp Systems -- is the father of Brett and Dwayne Rapp. Brett is, as you know, the President of Triad.

Now, check this link:

126. How did we miss this guy and his company up until now? All the insinuation
before the election was about Wally O'Dell's infamous letter saying he'd 'deliver Ohio's electoral votes to President Bush'. Could that have been yet another bait and switch three card monte game to have us not be prepared for the real company that would be doing the shenanigi in Ohio? Or have some people been aware of Triad all along and watching for them to screw up in a significantly provable way, say in the recount rather than in the actual election, meaning the recount was asked for just because we expected them to cover fraud with more fraud (something chronic liars have to do all the time)

Also what's with Warren County in the initial election, seems like that should be actionable with the bogus lockdown?

133. I think ....
...Triad had been on the 'radar' for sometime and the Warren County 'lockdown' was being discussed as early as 3 Nov and may well be the "Watergate office" aspect of the multi-faceted attack on our American franchise of democracy. It appears stuff is going to unfold rather rapidly starting Monday, 27 Dec 2004.

And, if you want to see the above photo with a really interesting caption, check this link -- http://www.blackboxvoting.com / (that's the .com not the BH .org site) and either search the page with "Rapp" or simply scroll down.

51. I'm trying not to over-expect here, but firmly feel since he IS back
in the game...since he IS 'playing'...he IS 'playing to win.' After all he's usually criticized for studying all his options (almost ad nauseum) before he finally makes his move. I feel confident now that he finally IS, he is confident he can win. (Not saying he won't be given what heck of a fight, but...)

Oh, and about that pic of him from "Time"...I'm glad someone one posted it. It's great.

Maybe we should we run it as a "Caption this?" My caption for JK emerging from the political "waters" IS: "He's baaaaaaack!"

Mwhahahaha!

102. You are right to do so Liam...., but
...leaving aside the moves by Conyers/Jackson/Arnebeck et al, if
Kerry/Edwards were just making pro forma legal gestures, then
their statement need not have ended on that landmark not:

"...Only then can the integrity of the entire
electoral process and the election of Bush/Cheney
warrant the public trust."

Now, that a politically polite way of saying that Ky/Ed
trust the Ohio result about as far as tey could throw it.

It's an attack on the Ohio recount and the "election" of *.

The background to that Ky/Ed statement are signals such as Conyers saying that Kerry conceded too soon.
http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/nation/10...

And Conyers throwing down the gauntlet to Triad with a letter
detailing alleged acts by Triad --which if proven true amount to their being an accessory-before-the-fact to criminal vote fraud.

59. could use a huge dose of major History-Making
that's for darn sure ...

our Constitution and institutions could use a stiffener ... especially considering power in our government has been 'usurped' ... no small history matter there ... history needs to do a little straightening up of the record ... this Nation needs a good dose of bona fide leadership and a shot of true integrity ... that certainly might help boost fellow-citizen morale and renew confidence in our system ... perhaps even serve as a catalyst to turn the tide away from the current criminal dawn of thugs, crooks, felons, traitors, et al, ... we've suffered a'plenty under the last 4 years of a coup d'etat ... our "system" needs rescuing ...

I think it's now or never time. We want our destiny back.

The torch is ready to be passed.

72. Gosh, what a wonderful photo and Christmas present!
My favorite lines are:
"But don't expect Kerry to quickly rush to a microphone in order to unconcede.

Thus leaving Kerry, poised to step into office over the Bush debris."

Kerry plays chess and for all the naysayers out there, how do you like your crow? For all the "I Believers" - this is so sweet!

In Ohio, much of the election fraud and voter disenfranchisement was racial. In FL, NM and SD, it was 100% racial. Once the recount begins and people really see how bad things were, the preponderance of evidence will form automatically in many minds.

I know they're not in my county. We've had the same electronic voting machines for years (don't know the manufacture, but they're not Triad or Diebold).

I rather suspect these are in Davidson County (Nashville) and Shelby County (Memphis).

Can anyone confirm. I tried a quick Google, but couldn't come up with anything other than there are Triad machines in Tennessee - no specifics.

237. An "unconcede" speech is unnecessary. This is just going through
the motions to make sure that every single vote is counted, until and unless enough Kerry votes are found or shrub votes are thrown out. If either happens, Kerry will give a speech with a long tradition in this country; no need to unconcede, just declare victory.

105. Remember that video about a month or so ago???
He was pissed! That child healthcare bill was a FEELER for him toward us! He wanted to see how many of US had HIS back. If nobody cared, then he wouldn't have a leg to stand on. But we must've signed that bill by the millions (or at the very least near a million).

His vocabulary was very brazen (right-wing assault, et al) and mentioned holding * accountable and making history again. What history could we make with Kerry sitting in the Senate with the Repukes having such a majority?

Your thoughts? Am I on to something or am I full of shit?

110. You're not full of shit.
But I don't know whether or not we're getting Kerry's motives right. You think he's on our side and he's dropping judicious hints. I think he's just stringing us along in a "good cop/bad cop" kind of way, with the Republicans as the "bad cops."

Meanwhile the wholesale swindle of the American people and evisceration of the middle class continues apace under both Democratic and Republican administrations.

I hope you're right, but it's generally best to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. The fact that powerful Democratic contributors refused to fully fund Air America Radio, for example, tells me a lot about their real motives.

Think about it. Twenty percent of the electorate identified itself as liberal in the last election, compared to 33% which identified itself as conservative, and we still don't have a national presence in the media. Even without factoring in the bad rep the word "liberal" has gotten compared to the good rep of the word "conservative" you've got a huge potential market here. This is compared to the glut of right-wing televison, radio, and print media. By such numbers alone this is a market that can be built on and expanded very easily, especially since we tend to live in centralized urban areas.

This makes the logistics of such a network of media partners and allies very easy to work out.

This is one thing that tells us a lot about their real motives.

106. I have a serious problem trusting these people.
Frankly I won't believe it until I see it because they're always lying to us and stringing us along. I think they're even worse than the Republicans. At least they call us son-of-bitches to our faces. That cold contempt for liberals I see in the eyes of people like Bill Clinton and Madeleine Albright makes me want to beat the living shit out of them.

(Though I wouldn't mind stringing up Little George, of course.)

142. Yes, but you are not making the distinction between K/E and the
Democratic party leaders. I've heard that Kerry was furious that the DNC asked him not to respond to the Swift Boat Liars and that his first wife was so angry she was threatening to come out of seclusion and give a news conference addressing what liars they really were, how she had seen JK in pain, unable to sleep, and tortured by his thoughts after coming back from Vietnam, and witnessed his determination to help end that immoral war and bring our young men home. The DNC leadership and the party talked Julia out of it as well as convincing Kerry to remain 'above' the fray, which led to him not coming out fighting the Swifties soon enough. He had bad advice, disagreed with it strongly but ended up listening to it, and he should have listened to his own instincts. That is not the same thing as being on the same page as the Democratic leadership, then or now.

I think he is his own man, very independent and a fighter, and that he is probably now going to thumb his nose at the Dems and stop following their bad, self-serving, self-preserving advice. They only care about keeping their power. Kerry cares about the American people, the soldiers, and being our President. His competitive, determination will serve him well in this very uphill battle to come. He might also realize that a careful, smart fight here, regardless of outcome is the only way to convince the people that he is sincerely going after the bad guys and has trully got our back. K couldn't run in 2008 (if * hasn't done away with elections altogether by then)even if he wanted to, if he doesn't prove himself to us now.

I'm convinced there's a chocolate cake frame in *'s ads. Nah, then I would have voted for him. Never!

121. Good advice.. Hopeful, yes? Excited? Sure. But be careful...
We have a very long road ahead of us, regardless of what happens on when Kerry files in Ohio. We are talking about dismantling a major group of-- "corrupt thugs", for lack of a better description (haven't had my coffee yet!). They are not going to simply sit there and watch things unravel without a fight. Also remember, there are many (millions) who really did vote for him and who are going need cold, hard evidence before they will believe this is all real. Yes we have the evidence- I believe it too. I'm in Florida, don't forget and we will never forget 2000 (or 2002, thanks to Triad and Jeb.)

I'm not saying that the truth will eventually come out -it will- IT HAS TO- there's too much evidence for it to be pushed back under the rug. I just know that we are all so wishful and hopeful (me included) about having this election turned around at the snap of a few pieces of evidence- ok a few thousand (57,000+), but we are fighting the Rove machine and MSM and layers of corruption and lies and I can assure you, if they believe there is really about to be a battle over the White House, then they will be bringing out the big guns to defend it.

Stay focused. Remember that we represent the truth. Stay together (thank God for you guys by the way!) and stay on message. This is not a partisan issue. It is about democracy and about our the violation of our constitution. It is about protecting the rights of every American to vote and to have their vote count as they had intended. It is about making sure that the person who gets inaugurated in January is the person who got the most votes- legally, transparently and equitably. "The integrity of the entire electoral process will need to be proven before the election will warrant the public trust" is how the Kerry attorney put it- and those were very carefully, chosen words.

Happy holidays to all- and fasten your seat belts. The next few weeks have the potential to be a rather wild ride!

One step at a time. We can do this and we will. But it may not happen quite a quickly as we all wish.

"Senators Kerry and Edwards are very concerned that the law for conducting the recount should be uniformly followed...Only then can the integrity of the entire electoral process and the election of Bush-Cheney warrant the public trust."

123. Naked, Stark, Obscene, Blasphemus, Unadulterated REALITY is..
Kerry has 16 working days left before shrub gets inaugurated.
Which means he is "legally" the president as soon as the swearing
in by the chief justice is finished. Which means, no court can remove
the sitting president. The constitution gives the power of impeachment
only to the elected congress. The house has to vote on articles of
impeachment, and the senate has to vote on removal.

No one in his/her right mind can hope for the fraud lawsuits to reach
a verdict in 16 working days, when you consider it has to move through
Ohio supreme court, appeal to federal courts, and finally appeal to the
SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the US).

Kerry should have started legal proceedings on Nov 3rd. To jump in now
is the proverbial too little too late. Kerry, where have you been for
the last 7 weeks?

If it were to go a formal investigation, then we could hope for at least the
possibility of election reform and GW's legitimacy would be (even) more seriously undermined.

It will only be too late if the right to vote fairly is taken away
forever. I know that many Republicans voted for Kerry and now are wondering,
thanks to so little media coverage, what went wrong.
Lazy media

People are assuming that Bush got more votes....WRONG.
The law does not always move at light speed...nor could
President Kerry change that.

Bush is a lame duck and hopefully will be a plucked duck
before he ever gets out of office.

Focus your attention on election fraud and not on *stupid
or waste your time being mad at Kerry...he is not god.

Find out as much legitimate stuff as you can on the
crappy software used to rig the elections.

Secure systems do not exist here, no matter what folks in high and low places think.

They have been fooled.....you have xp?
open your windows Dir and behold the crack fixes ...

Gates could redeem himself finding this fraud...who
knows maybe he is looking? maybe not

You have to prove the scanners as well as voting software were fixed,
and please do not forget the people who stood in line and were turned away...etc.

We marched against the war and for civil rights ...we made a difference...
put your walkin' shoes on and stand up for those who can't.

Republican rats will be scrambling to save their own asses. There just might be a good shot that they will abandon a sinking ship and vote to impeach even in Congress. Once he's tainted, nobody, not even the fundies, will want to be guilty by association. They have their own offices and power to protect, not to mention avoiding jail time themselves.

I personally think he and his cabal have so far overreached in every aspect of what they've done that the FBI, and the military will be turning on them very soon. They have just been too f**cked up to too many people that they need to keep their little balls all in the air. Just my opinion. I think the Dauphin is going down, one way or another. Can't be soon enough for me. If it happens in January '05, all the better, but anytime after that will be fine with me. He needs to go, make no mistake, he will destroy everything we hold dear, destroy our country and probably the world as we know it if he is allowed another four years.

Does that sound too harsh? :smoke:

Bill Clinton was disbarred by the Arkansas Supreme Court, and by the by the US Supreme Court ("proven in courts of law of their misdeeds", I think you said.) He is still a popular politician.

Marion Barry was convicted of drug possession and did six months in Federal penitentiary. He was elected into the DC City Council and back into the Mayor's office afterward.

270. Have to disagree, googly.
Clinton is still popular, even though he was disbarred, and we were looking for politicians who remained popular (not necessarily elected or re-elected.) Hell, I recall an opinion poll before the election that put him ahead of John Kerry in electability.

I like Barry as an example of a pol who was re-elected after being convicted. If I find out that his opponents in the races after his conviction were white, then I will immediately concede your point. I can't find information to support or refute that, though, so I have to stand pat.

time to get decisions out of federal court and then supreme court? I
understand the lack of evidence immediately following nov 2nd, but don't
you see that by conceding and staying in the shadows the MSM is not
paying any attention? And how can the citizens get excited when there is
almost complete lack of news about the possibility of election fraud?
It is the public outrage is what Kerry needs and he did'nt get it,

question now with Triadgate. What machines or tabulators were used in Dashle/Thune, Bunning/Mongiardo, and Castor/Martinez for starters? Those seemed very fishy to me, and there are probably more where a Republican seat was just pulled out of someones butt or thin air due to vapor ballots or hacked central tabulators? Edited on Sat Dec-25-04 01:39 PM by zapped 1
"...Only then can the integrity of the entire electoral process and the election of Bush/Cheney warrant the public trust."

...is that the words "future elections" are left out. That is a very good sign!

187. the "Kerry preparing grounds to unconcede" statement is just the opinion
of the author in surmising intent based on the statement "...Only then can the integrity of the entire electoral process and the election of Bush/Cheney warrant the public trust."

Correct?
As far as I can tell, Kerry has said nothing about unconceding. Anyone else know more?

189. i agree mostly
the quote def. implies that Kerry/Edwards are more vocally concerned with the legitimacy of the election, but it does not 'lay grounds' for Kerry unconceding.

HE DOESN'T HAVE TO UNCONCEDE. It will unravel on its own, i think is how WilliamPitt said it.

192. Impossible for Kerry to "UNconcede" because
politically he will be murdered by the repugs, calling him
super flip flopper. At this stage, Kerry is depending on OTHERS
to dig up fraud evidence, and only after fraud is proven in
courts can he unconcede.

other boards have been everywhere from

:loveya:

I think right about now I'm feeling a bit of all of it at once. Do they make "political lithium"?

No matter what happened or happens, I have never stopped believing that he'd be one of the best presidents we've ever had.

I get really mad and perhaps it's entirely unfair but I compare him to his 30 year old self (wow, time for me to look in that mirror myself, eh?) and I think many democrats expect their candidate to be perfect and flawless and we don't realize how our own lack of cohesion as a party makes it impossible for a candidate to pick one simplistic theme the way the repukelicans do.

Have you ever tried to make a point in a room full of people who you know won't support you, and you'll get shouted down? That's what he faced every day with the media, and with what I call "cannibalistic" dems.

Anyway, I have posted hope and hopelessness, admiration and anger, adoration and disappointment, joy and despair. I'll likely post it all again at one time or another.

But I still want him to be President, and I'd vote for him again.

198. Great post Delphine. I totally hear everything you are saying.
Love the term 'cannibalistic dems' and the room full of people ex., so true. I had a house full of 'Democrats' last night for Xmas eve dinner and the minute I even brought up what might be going on with Kerry, the election fraud etc., I could see people's eyes glazing over in their heads. Some said 'it'll never happen' or 'it's not in the newspaper' (so it must not be true) or my personal fave 'are you one of those tinfoil hat wearing people', and these are all people who voted for Kerry. Makes me so mad.

202. Let me insert this bit of advice to all DUers right here:
I don't and won't trust the MSM to do this story justice. YOU are the media now. WE are the media. You HAVE to push push push this story hard if it turns out to really have legs. Email email email to everyone and every organization you can. Get it on blogs, get it on other websites, fling it far and wide. We've seen (during the campaign) evidence of our own work at pushing a story causing it to land in the MSM lap and they had no choice but to acknowledge it.

Anyone with media connections out there, keep them fresh.

All that said, I never really found Kerry particularly ATTRACTIVE, but that picture........um.......MY. WHERE did that come from???? Breathing a bit heavier right now.

241. Recall David Lytel's appearance on FAUX---national TV and they
Edited on Sat Dec-25-04 11:09 PM by Gloria
(probably deliberately) MISS THE WHOLE POINT OF WHAT LYTEL WAS SAYING!!
(Colmes was in his usual "Colmes Democrat" role and who knows who the other idiot "Democrat" was sitting in for Hannity...)

David Lytel of RedefeatBush.com had just answered that he did work in the Clinton Admin., and both Colmes and the other jerk were going after him---"I can't believe people in the Clinton Administration would agree with what you are saying!!" says Colmes...after Lytel had mentioned the election issue/Bush did not win. He said, "You'd be surprised at the people who agree with me."

And then......
The last thing Lytel said was "I predict that there will be a successful challenge in at least one House of the United States Congress."

It went completely by both jerks. Because that is all it takes....ONE House...the Senate...to "successfully challenge."
