New York Times: Voting Problems in Ohio
Stolen from LBN
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/24/national/24vote.html?ei=5088&en=0e0adbe08ff79c22&ex=1261544400&partner=rssnyt&pagewanted=print&position=

Snip~

When the recount is completed next week, no one expects the questions about the election to die, with several groups poised to challenge the recount.

"I think the majority of Democrats feel that the election was more or less accurate," said Dan Trevas, the spokesman for the Ohio Democratic Party. "But others are suspicious. Irregularities that are normally overlooked have become the focal point of attention this year. I just can't see those people walking away satisfied."

Nice of them to get around to reporting on Christmas Eve heh?

Well Merry Christmas, Democracy.

1. "Irregularities that are normally overlooked ..."
I suppose he's referring to the theft of Election 2000?

12. No, but we are.
I just love his admission that DEMOCRATS have been letting the vote count slide.

Thanks a lot, fella.

5. Yes, I am getting cranky
"With a state recount expected to be completed next week, few experts think the problems were enough to overturn President Bush's victory here. And many of the shortcomings have plagued elections for decades."

TRANSLATION: "Few experts" = "I asked Secretary of State Blackwell and he said..."

TRANSLATION: "And many of the shortcomings have plagued elections for decades." = "Them Black People shouldn't oughta expect their vote to count anyhow!"

----------------------------------------

JOURNALISTIC BALANCE:

TRUTH: "Somebody came up with a very sophisticated plan for machine distribution which, either by accident or design, greatly enhanced the president," said Robert Fitrakis of Columbus, who is part of a group that has contested the election results in court.

LIES: Matthew Damschroder, a Republican who is the director of elections in Franklin County, said the urban precincts lost machines because many of their voters had not voted recently and because those precincts historically had had low turnout.

:grr:

8. It olooks like the MSM is going to start picking up the
story, but it also looks like it is going to be not very favorable to people here.

9. Wrong exit polls = FRAUD= Liability
If the exit polls were wrong as has been illustrated numerous times then networks the published them could be held liable for millions if not billions of dollars. Think of all the stock trades and the dollar trades based on those early polls. They can not all be wrong. It was been shown here that Kerry actually lost votes in Ohio between exit polls. Now that would definitely be libelous. Now if the polls were wrong then the company that provided them could be held accountable. Billions of dollars world wide moved on those exit polls. Am I wrong??

10. That article would get an F if it was an academic paper. It mentioned
Edited on Thu Dec-23-04 11:32 PM by wlubin
nothing of the details of the suspicious activities around the recount. And it mentioned nothing of that county that went into lock down due to a supposed terrorist threat. That lock down due to the county officials lying and saying there was a terrorist threat is enough evidence to call the ohio election void, and a re-vote in order.

13. "more or less accurate"
What the heck does "more or less accurate" mean?

Something is accurate or it's not. "More or less"?

15. Gotta love this part...
"Mr. Blackwell favors changing to a system that uses an optical scanner to read a paper ballot, which, he said, meets federal requirements, is less expensive than other machines and can handle more voters. But he said groups who say that just about every electronic voting system can be hacked are not helping things."
