Last night promised for such an exciting, promising today . . .
today wasn't all that wonderful for me. I guess I was expecting more. I know it isn't over yet but was anyone else expecting some fireworks today? And I thought it was more of that just "business as usual" facade the Repubs are playing so well right now. State by state certified the votes for GWB - if any mention of irregularities or recounts, it was brief and very superfluous.

Anyway, off to bed - can't keep pulling these all nighters - they are killing me. But I wanted to post this before signing off tonight - it is a couple of weeks old but I have been spending so much time out on DU I am behind on some of my other reading. Found this when catching up tonight and thought it would have appreciation value for many of you. Goodnight.

1. I wasn't expecting a silver bullet. As was said in the other thread its
chess not wackamole. Keep rolling, keep playing. Get sleep, rest and prepare for ongoing game. We maybe have reached the halftime if that. We've got to play the second half.

2. Thanks for the link
It didn't exactly leave me in stitches, but it energized me. How very sad, and true. Let's hope for better news and reaction tomorrow. I agree that today was anti-climatic.

8. I agree that sometimes when there is too much
truth in jest it gets hard to laugh anymore. I don't think I sent that thinking anyone would find it "funny" per se. But those 10 Commandments with the "qualifiers" were so dead-to-rights I thought it was worth sharing.

6. I didn't exactly mean for that to be a downer post
but when I re-read it I understand it was. I am not usually a cup half empty person but the stress of the current situation has weighed heavily - and I have had more than my share of complications in my personal life as well.

Will try to do better - the last thing anyone needs out here is more doom and gloom. Sorry.

9. well, I was feeling the same way
Without criticizing Arnebeck or Conyers or anybody else--I realize that they have to be careful and tactical about this, I must admit I expected something dramatic after Arnebeck said last Friday that "On Monday we have people who'll blow this wide open" (sorry, not an exact quote). All weekend I was going around smiling to myself, thinking that I knew a secret and that Monday would be this big earthshattering day, with the news networks breaking into their regularly scheduled programs with special bulletins, etc. (I'm a dreamer....)

So, yeah, like you dmac, I was feeling disappointed that Monday didn't turn out to be The Day of Our Liberation. But the news that did come out is still good--the evidence for fraud is piling up--and I still have champagne in the refrigerator. I just didn't get to drink it last night is all.
