NPR FRAUD/HEARING COVERAGEON MORNING EDITION!!!!
I just heard Pam Fessler report on Election Fraud ISSUE!!!

Overall, pretty good - gave much more time to the good guys than the bad guys, I would say.

What I heard:

First - Common Cause event from Tuesday was covered: Quoted an activist saying that as a poll watcher he heard a voter yelling that their Kerry vote turned into a Bush vote, and that night he heard more cases of that on the news - How can it all go from Kerry to Bush, is there anyway to explain that anomoly other than FRAUD!!!??? And the crowd went WILD!!!! in the background. WoooHooo!!!

Pam Fessler referred to us as a small but energized group of voters, mostly organizing on the internet.

David Dill (?) and Ted Selker (?) the MIT guy saying some votes switched from Bush to Kerry too so it isn't fraud.

Mentioned Intimidation and confusion at the polls, poll watchers describing no lines in the suburbs and inner city voters waiting for hours in the rain.

THEN - The hearing yesterday - Played a clip of Conyers, pretty basic - mentioned that w/o Republican support it will be hard for Congress to do anything, that is why they are demanding the GAO do an investigation. Also quickly mentioned the GLIB recount filing in Ohio and the lawsuits, but not much detail about that.

THen the SOS spokesman said the 'welcome this scrutiny' because they have nothing to hide. Especially since Democrats are in charge of the polls in the inner city anyway, how can they blame it on the state? (?!?!?!?)

That's all folks. I gotta get dressed and go to work now. ;)

1. Did you ever notice that NPR only covers Democratic events a day after...
so that they can safely spin...err...balance the coverage.

5. Yep "balance"
I get the impression they were told who controls their money about a year ago. Bye, Bob Edwards. Hello "balance". (bye objectivity). Someplace I heard an NPR spokesman being interviewed in the last two weeks. He kept emphasising the move to "balance". It was almost like he didn't believe it either. I was waiting for him to add "fair". "Fair and balanced".

2. I was at this hearing and it was very interesting
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 08:05 AM by GetTheRightVote
Avi Rubin was in attendance as well as many other concerned parties.
I was one of the questioners in the line and when it reached my turn I introduced DU/Interneters spreading as well as reading his research concerning the machines, etc. He had a very good presentation. I have been going to all the hearings I can as well as the rallys. I also attended the Ohio rally which was not as big as we would have liked but it did have about 1,000 people there not the 400 hunderd the news coverage spoke of, it has been a great trip through our democracy, I only hope it all works out for the voter and our country. My daughter is the girl standing behind the woman holding up the Recount sign on Yahoo news. She thought that was pretty cool too.

4. Right on, Right Vote! I was in Columbus too!
Yeah, I was a little disppointed in the turnout, but the symposium afterward was awesome. I am pretty fired up about all this, and plan to go to Lansing this weekend.

I am so happy that there is some coverage on this!

6. Listen for yourself - link here:
http://www.npr.org/rundowns/rundown.php?prgDate=09-Dec-2004&prgId=3

Scroll about 1/3 down the page. Also link to the Washington recount coverage.

Am I the only one who is not disappointed by this? It's NPR News - Of course it could have been better, but it considering how much worse it could have been...I am pretty pleased. This is some serious national coverage of what many thought were 'fringe' events. It's a good start, as far as I'm concerned.

8. About this issue of "mostly organizing on the Internet"
Pundits seem to refer to that as if it's a bad thing. It's the people's forum of the 21st Century.

How would they have us organize? Through snail mail, which is the modern equivalent of the Pony Express?

We need to reach these people who adopt a dismissive attitude of "organizing on the Internet" and let them know that their mindset needs to catch up with technology.

9. We are witnessing the gasps of a choking
punditocracy. The Praetoria pundits think it is their divine right to tell us what to think. They are in a snit. We all can continue to let the word go forth in a new generation...
