TX committee investigates TX Dem election wins
Amazing how the repubs actually WANT a hearing held when repubs LEGALLY lose to a dem yet let a dem get frauded out of a win and repubs refuse to attend.

http://www.kvue.com/news/local/stories/120604kvueElection-eh.175f828e.html

A nine-member panel of Republicans and Democrats has been appointed today to review three contested Texas House races. The Select Committee on Election Contests will investigate three November second elections that resulted in wins for Democrats.

-- Houston Democrat Hubert Vo appeared to beat veteran GOP Representative Talmadge Heflin of Houston by 33 votes. Heflin is contesting the results.

-- Republican Representative Jack Stick is contesting his loss to Austin Democrat Mark Strama by 569 votes.

-- Another challenge comes from Eric Opiela, who's a defeated Republican legislative candidate from Karnes City.

<snip>

The House can either declare a winner in the elections or declare the election void and order a new one -- which is rare.

10. That's what I was hoping....
oh, yeah, you know shrub and Delay don't want any attention brought to TX elections, right?....they will probably call a grinding halt to the hearings, telling the TX repub losers to suck it up since any investigation of TX voting system just may lead to the White House's doorsteps.

13. Machine Software was focusing on Delay/Sessions/Bush
not the locals?? Would also explain why an openly gay Hispanic female WON by around 51% in the Dallas County sheriff race while the county went 51% for shrub. Delay and shrub will probably be telling the local repubs to "take one for the team" and shut the fuck up..either that or they will be giving the local repuke losers hefty paying fed jobs or contracts very soon as hush money?

11. I think it's a strategy

Now they can say: Also the DEMs manipulated... There is also a hearing against Dems in Texas... So forget Ohio. It was on both sides.

Just a strategy...

they're just going to try to get the legislature to declare winners.

Does anyone happen to know how many Republicans and how many Democrats are on the 9-member panel? What team casts the deciding vote? Oh, wait, let me guess......

On edit: what the hell is there to review? The democrats won these races "fair and square" and until or unless they recount the ballots they can't make a decision.

This is INSANE. What is the DNC doing to help in this? Oh, wait, let me guess...

Since WHEN has a recount resulted in a Republican win? All of the "glitches" have gone in Republicans' favor. BECAUSE THE MACHINES ARE RIGGED.

So now, these people WON, and WITHOUT A RECOUNT, the legislature gets to have a chance to overrule that? BASED ON WHAT??????

16. What a bunch of whining crybabies!!
They made some miscalculations with the fix in TX and lost a few small races because of it. But now they want a second bite at the apple, while presenting bupkis for evidence to justify overriding the election results. Screw what the people voted for. Hey, assholes - when you live by the sword, you die by the sword. Suck it up.

19. Here are the members:

-- Republican Speaker Tom Craddick named Republican Terry Keel of Austin as chairman, with Democrat Craig Eiland of Galveston serving as vice chairman.

Other members are Republicans Mary Denny of Aubrey, Suzanna Gratia Hupp of Lampasas, Phil King of Weatherford and Larry Phillips of Sherman, and Democrats Helen Giddings of Dallas, Ryan Guillen of Rio Grande City and Alan Ritter of Nederland.

Craddick also appointed GOP Representative Will Hartnett of Dallas as the "master of discovery," to oversee the evidence-gathering process.

Master of discovery? Wonder if he'll be the one issuing the subpoenas for the electronic voting machines software...?

25. Hmmm....don't they mean the...
evidence *fabricating* process?? Should be pretty easy to rig the machines again to flip those three races. Great idea - let's give the ones who corrupted the election in the first place unfettered access to the evidence. That way they can kill two birds with one stone -- cover up what they did for Smirky and frame the democrats for their small potato screwup at the same time. Slimy bastards!!!

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/politics/state/stories/120704dntexcox.391ac.html

The case being handled by Mr. Cox has attracted national attention. A Travis County grand jury has indicted three associates of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Sugar Land, and is investigating whether illegal corporate money was laundered by political action committees with ties to top Republicans, including Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick.

22. You guessed it...
The Repugs have the deciding vote and they are the ones gathering the evidence. Sigh. Will it ever end?

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/politics/2934965

Speaker Tom Craddick appointed the panel of five Republicans and four Democrats on Monday and named state Rep. Will Hartnett, R-Dallas, a lawyer, as the "master of discovery," who will gather evidence in the proceedings.

23. Texas Democrats need your help
They are fighting this attempt to overthrow the vote...

http://www.txdemocrats.org/

Gang of Three Tries to Overthrow Election Results

After Democrats gained seats in the Legislature for the first time in a generation Republicans are getting desperate. Three of the defeated Republicans are trying to steal the elections right before our eyes- filing election contests in the Craddick Cartel run House. Talmadge Heflin was narrowly defeated by Democrat Hubert Vo, Jack Stick was beat by more than 500 votes by Democrat Mark Strama and Eric Opiela was defeated by almost a thousand votes by Democrat Yvonne Gonzalez-Toureilles, and now all of them want to overthrow the will of the people. Keep checking with TXDemocrats.org to find out the latest on GOP attempts to deny the people the representatives they chose!

Help us fight off this rediculous attempt to deny the people of Texas their voice in Austin! Donate to the TDP today!
