Greg Palast Investigation called in gets widespread

First a group of friends call upon, and get Greg Palast involved in this investigation.
Second, another few emails, and Wayne Madsen is involved with Greg Palast.

Third, Greg prints that he is investigating and needs to raise directly more funding.

Last and not least, Wayne Madsen has an interview that reveals nearly everything over radio. The confirmed sources are protected in a NASA facility, and the House Congress calls for a full hearing in Ohio this next week. Evidence to be weeded through like a forest.

23. Posting the blog info on Madsen
This info matches perfectly w/ what I know:

"Breaking Urgent News from "The Horse's Mouth" Department:

I just finished a radio interview with James Hogue, on his program at WGDR, www.wgdr.org, in Vermont. The other guest, leading off the show, was none other than Wayne Madsen, the former Intelligence Officer with the National Security Agency during the Reagan Regime, and currently investigative journalist extraodinaire who is breaking the story --facts, checks, figures, names, sources-- of how this "Election" was rigged by retired FBI agents posing as real ones to gain access to the machines under color of authority and security. That may explain what happened in Warren County, Ohio, and the "Level 10 out of 10" security alert allegedly handed to ROV there by FBI, that the real FBI later said never came from their offices........

Wayne Madsen spoke for about twenty minutes, and James has promised me copies of the show. I got the lion's share of the interview, an hour, for the simple reason that Mr. Madsen is so hard at work at developing the leads and sources in this story --one that makes Woodward and Bernstein's look like wannabes-- that he needed to get off the line to continue his work. In saying farewell, before he hooked up with me by phone, Jim Hogue thanked Madsen and asked him to thank Sybil Edmonds of the FBI. Madsen said there was no need, as Sybil Edmonds was there having coffee with him, listening to the conversation. He said they were in D.C. when he called.

What??? That's why I called this post "Riding the Dragon" as both he, Jim, and I were on a wave, as in the current surf hit film "Riding Giants," where you don't want to lose your board. At times like this, I just put it all in God's hands: because, clearly, this story is so large in scope that I have the same "concussed-by-surrealism" sense of space that one might enjoy while "riding the Dragon." You need to keep a good grip on the ears. I think that is the SOP.

Well, if Wayne isn't shot in the next few weeks or months, maybe the lid will blow off this. Who knows, he said something VERY interesting: that he was in contact with Major Media and they are telling him to not let go of this story.

And, surely, neither shall we............

Peace to the Power of Boycott: John E

PS I'll try to make transcripts of the interview(s) available as soon as available.

PPS You find Madsen's three huge scoops at www.onlinejournal.com on how funds from Marcos, Saudis, and you name it who has big money, was used to put up 30 million dollars to finance a machine-rigging on this last Election Day. The details are astonishing, truly. If Watergate astonished you, wait till your read ALL three.

God's hands? "Riding the dragon?"

From the general line of information and misinformation cited in recent posts, the bottom line seems to be: Madsen is a dupe following a useless line of investigation and the CyberNET threads are red hot.

FBI seems much more interested in CyberNet anyway. . .

Is Palast mostly looking at the Madsen stuff? There's other more fully and openly documented stuff like the massive voter suppression that is well documented and widespread indications of irregularities and fraud in the vote totals in many counties in Ohio.

Good God, NO. He broke the 2000 election story of FL voter rolls being purged and no one would touch till three years later, when it was much too late.

There isn't a corporation that doesn't hate or fear the guy. A real investigative reporter -- old school -- that kind that wears disguises gets phony ID's to to access info that otherwise wouldn't be released to the GP. Or at least I'm told.

The tone of the posting seems to be more directed to a "third party" that is claiming to be connected with Palast and Madsen, and he is asking for money to "investigate" around the internet.

The individual calls himself "Seymour."

Be skeptical about it but open minded (I talk about the information).

And BTW, Greg Palast has worked for the BBC. He is professional journalist and a good one.

19. This is dangerous disinformation. Don't fall for it.
Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 03:01 AM by RubyCat
If anyone is having trouble understanding this hyper-excited post, it's because it's disinformation by a scam artist. Don't fall for it.

The cannonfire.blogspot.com site is reputable, and here is what he has to say about that particular diarist:

--------

Speaking of fraudsters... I've just been called a liar by a diarist at Daily Kos. This Diarist may be the same person as the "Jack Seymour" who wrote to me with the alleged intention of raising money for a joint investigation by Greg Paast and Wayne Madsen.

The truth: I wrote to Palast and Madsen and neither man has heard of this guy. And they aren't working together. (No bad blood or anything -- they just aren't working together on this.)

If you want to contribute to Palast, go directly to his page. Don't give money to any third party claiming to operate on his behalf.

The guy calling himself "Jack Seymour" seems to operate under a variety of names, and he is posting in a good many places. His writings always draw ornate conspiratorial linkages, and he points the fingers at some legitimately troubling groups: Accenture, Cybernet, Five Star, and so forth. But his writings all have one thing in common: They're confusing. The closer you read, the less sense they make.

29. Madsen info on Canon fire is incorrect according to my knowledge and
Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 03:22 AM by jamboi
also the writer of the above DailyKos article writes "All of this is factual information, Wayne Madsen and Greg Palast have been meeting on this issue. Everything http://cannonfire.blogspot.com posted was a lie!!! It wasn't even on the bar with the accusations." I certainly wouldn't call it a lie, I can just see that Joseph jumped to the false conclusion that Madsen had been sucked in by what Madsen calls the "decoys", ie disinformation put out to mislead invesitigators. There were three primary decoys that Madsen has told me about: Horn, Five Star Investment (as opposed to Five Star Trust which was the real actor), and the phony check. Madsen wasn't taken in by any of these contrary to what Cannonfire claims.

Further Madsen has never asked anyone I know of for any money.

Further I know nothing about "Jack Seymour" -- your post is the first I've heard of him. He has nothing to do with Madsen.

As I've said many times, only time will be able to tell us whether Madsen's narrative on this proves out, but he definitely is in touch with Palast, Olbermann, Congressman Conyers, Senator Kerry's folks, MSM and they are all listening to what he has to say. Maybe it will prove right, maybe wrong, but I have no indication whatsoever that Madsen is a charlatan.

Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 02:57 AM by Liberty Belle
The case is this, look inside. (none / 0)

Its not hard to follow, its this simple.
Accenture set up a bunch of caging lists pre the election. Caging lists that put voters off the rolls but at the same time add the bogus voters, mostly dead, felons, or other back in to be counted as votes for Bush.

They achieved that through the hacked program installed on the tabulators. It was computer fraud using these lists. The hacked program is connected to every seedy corporation known right now in the south, but the main financial arm has been Five Star, and Germany's Deutsche Bank.

They pre-planned it for a while and had it set so elections officials were replaced with phonies, and certain people were trained by these otherwise harmless vote hackers. In several states like he explained, they got away with it, and through a couple of schools and people here and there stuffed the votes across 8 states or more, nationwide. With the main states being Ohio, Florida, Texas, California, Michigan.

Not so hard to understand now is it? It was a pre-planned rig operation, using the technology of dirty business.

25. Back before the election, one of the GOP's caging lists for
voters in Florida was intercepted by a satirical internet site. It think it was georgebush.org or something like that. Anyway, folks from the real GWB campaign were emailing the list and discussing it, but instead of sending it to .com, they sent it to the satire site. The admins at the satire site were checking their default email box and came across the cage list and other emails from people working on the campaign. I may have bookmarked the thread.

Anyway, the GOP was playing with caging lists and I think I may have saved the list on my other computer.

someone found a spreadsheet that was posted to the "fake" * site--in the dead letters box--it seems to relate to the idea that the GOP was sending out registrations to see if people were active or inactive. I read somewhere (can't remember where just now) that this was being done to "mine" possible ghost voters.

21. Before you donate, please read the message at the bottom
of the story by the guy who runs the http://cannonfire.blogspot.com/ site and make sure you donate to the right site. Also, visit the Cannonfire site and read the latest entry (Dec. 4).

--------

Not sure what the hell is going on, but... (4.00 / 2)

I am the guy who runs Cannonfire, and I did not lie.

Basically, there is a guy out there calling himself "Jack Seymour" (although he seems to use other names as well). He claims that he is raising money on behalf of Wayne Madsen and Greg Palast -- who, he asserts, are working together on the vote fraud issue. "Seymour" wanted me to link to his pay-pal donation site.

I wrote to Madsen and Palast. Neither man has heard of this Seymour fellow. Madsen thinks the guy has something up his sleeve.

Palast IS raising money on his own, and more power to him. If you want to help him out, go to his site. Don't give to a third party.

Palast and Madsen have helped each other in the past, but are now working separately. (No hint of bad blood or anything -- they are just following different roads right now.)

Seymour, or whoever the hell he is, operates under a variety of names and is spewing out all sorts of conspiratorial connections -- some of them legitimately concerning: Accenture, Cybernet, Five Star...

Pretty soon, he'll throw in Permindex!

Bottom line is, neither Palast nor Madsen know who the hell this guy is. If you doubt that I'm telling the truth, write to them as I did.

31. Who's the source of this info? Who is "BlogVote" that posted the diary?
Since apparently Madsen is responsive and reportedly has corresponded with people here, has he confirmed that he and Palast are collaborating since that is what BlogVote alleges. Jamboi? Can you confirm or deny, based on your info, that Madsen and Palast are collaborating?

There's been concern noted elsewhere that someone is claiming Madsen and Palast are working together and is soliciting funds for a supposed Palast/Madsen investigation that has yet to be confirmed. Palast's site has been asking for direct donations for his work for some time, that's nothing new. If anyone wishes to support Palast, use his site to do so.

As for the BlogVote fellow, later on he states that "Sybill (sic) Edmonds is a real FBI officer." Actually, Sibel Edmonds was a contract employee and not a member of the FBI. A distinction that BlogVote doesn't appear to appreciate or note. Rather doubtful that he's any more scrupilous about the accuracy of the stuff he writes or quotes, especially when he's busy calling others liars.

So first can someone in touch with Madsen confirm or deny the alleged collaboration with Palast?

34. I know they've worked together before. I'm not 100% sure about it
though I know that I sent Palast the story right away when I saw it (no response), since I was hoping he'd give us some reading on whether we could put some trust in Madsen (I'd never heard of Madsen before). I wouldn't be suprised if they chose to work together as they have in the past, but I don't know if they are this time. I saw on the blog site a note that said they were working on separate angles on this one, which I think is a good approach actually.

37. These are links from Jeff's site that show JS is feeding him information
I have talked to Jeff Fisher twice this week. Today, I confirmed with him that these links were placed there by him and his buddy, and were not planted by a hacker.

http://www.jefffisherforcongress.com/Campaign2006/connectionvote112604.htm

http://www.jefffisherforcongress.com/Campaign2006/connectionvote.htm

Jeff thought all this stuff was true.

Scroll down to the bottom and see that they came from "JS"

Notice how it's all the same stuff as what we've seen other places, including here, BBV.org, and now at Daily KOS.

Please allow me to continue speaking!

48. Fisher started with his own story however one thinks of it but it's clear
that after a point some of the stuff he put on his site and apparently adopted was cross-pollination from a variety of sources. He's an easy target for receiving and unknowingly disseminating disinformation since he appears rather credulous and a bit wacky.

If you go to Daily KOS and read the thread, you'll see that someone is trying to make it look like Wayne Madison sent an email from this exact same email address.

40. This is copied from Daily KOS tonight
Notice that this con artist and his group (Activisms) make it look like Wayne is sending emails using [email protected]

Then Greg Palast gets the official word out there, and Wayne Madsen both, with Wayne personally staying in contact with Greg.

Here is a quick message, email is still saved in the inbox

"In a message dated 11/29/2004 7:01:54 PM Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes:
[email protected]
I know Greg..I will talk to him soon
'
wm"

Earlier tonight, an entire forum was shut down at BBV.org, filled with dozens of threads that Auditors, ChicanoPwr, and Andy (not BBV's Andy) participated in, spreading all this CyberNET stuff, Palast, Fisher, Bay Point, etc., all over the place. And this was JUST at BBV.org! Meanwhile, Activisms runs around the clock - so it must be some sort of command center type of thing.

Clearly, if we can find out the IP address of who is posting as Activisms at CommonGroundCommonSense (CMCS) we will know who is behind all of this.

Please allow me to continue!

47. Well, I'll just get back to posting proof of everything I have found out
And we'll see how long I am allowed to stay.

On November 5th, the name Activisms first appeared at CMCS.

http://www.commongroundcommonsense.org/index.php?act=Search&nav=au&CODE=show&searchid=63e35127306a6103db84d0910cde8ec6&search_in=posts&result_type=posts&hl=&st=2475

At first, "they" fit in like any new poster. I was not a member there at the time, so I knew nothing about this.

As time went on, Activisms started to post more and more about Bay Point, Jeff Fisher, etc. But CyberNET Group, and therefore all the other Cybernet-named companies that keep popping up in posts, weren't prominent in any of the stories they were spinning, until November 18th, the day the FBI raided CyberNET Group in Grand Rapids.

All of a sudden, Activisms brought CyberNET Group, and thus all the other Cybernet companies, into the story. On the same night, Auditors at BBV.org posted his memorable thread, which Carl Brennan used to start a new thread here at DU:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x66214#67338

Carl didn't know better, neither did I on Sunday night, that this whole thing was a fraud.

BTW since BBV,org is currently cleaning up all the forums, the link to Auditors' post on the night of November 18th is no longer working.

John

63. I'm a former member of commongroundcommonsense
This was the original John Kerry site which two administrators took over and made into their own "special" place. No sooner did they have the site established and have several thousand Kerry supporters sign up that they opened the floodgates to many Freepers. It was as though they went on a recruiting drive to bring into as many Freepers as possible.

On the old Kerry site they would simply delete the Freepers, ban them from the site. Now they are just inviting them to post while many of the Kerry supporters either fight on with them or abandon ship. I abandoned ship.

The problem over there is that the 'special place' practiced massive post consolidation. You'd be in the middle of reading something and the thread would disappear into some 17 page consolidation thread and you had to really search to find it. Also...everyone there was considered a 'freeper' by the happy folks if they dared suggest that they were feeling bummed about how things were going or questioned the moderator's authority. When I complained about my posts disappearing into a great void before I could read them my threads were deleted. I was taken to task by moderators offline to basically 'shut up or get out' so I got out.

72. I agree
I agree with what you have said. When I moved over there, I was looking for a place similar to the John Kerry Forum. I do think the forum is a bit over-moderated as far as if anyone complains about anything like post consolidation - it's if you don't like it go elsewhere. Perhaps I will start posting here more instead - though I guess every forum probably has it's good and bad things.

I'm looking for a forum for democrats. While I don't mind there being a place that is welcoming for Republicans, that wasn't what I though they were doing when they said they were moving the John Kerry forum to this new site. I thought it would stay similar to the old forum.

If it was over run then It was because of the confusion with the move. The John Kerry forum had a lot of good people. I hate to see that happen. I'm just slow to waking up to it. I didn't realize it was to that bad of a level.

No one can stop Greg Palast now. He is unstoppable. I am sure that Karl Rove is terrified by the thought that Greg Palast one of the smartest journalist in the world, is after this fraud issue. Once Olbermann another unbelievably smart journalist, gets hold of this latest story by Palast this is it. It will be all over!

In fact they should change the prize name from Pulitzer to Palast. So the highest journalism award will be named after the greatest journalists of all time Greg Palast. Sorry Keith Olbermann you are very close second, but not the # 1, may be we need to name a second journalism award after Olbermann.

I don't think broadcast journalists can get Pulitzers, BTW, although Keith Olbermann does also have a blog. I believe the rules are limited to newspapers and books, but arguably the online publications are newspapers.

89. If MSM and FBI will not, we must investigate fraud ourselves
Let's say you have some great investigative reporters, but either the MSM will not employ them, or they WILL employ them, but will not let them write pieces that will make corporate America uncomfortable.

Now here are we, the public, being screwed by crooked politicians and party hacks, and by a complicit media.

It makes a hell of a lot of sense to me that we should hire our own investigative reporters to work on our behalf.

These guys can't do their good work and live on nothing, also risking their lives when they get close to the heart of the most nuclear-explosive real ugly truth.

SO I really don't want to hear these knee-jerk criticisms that anyone asking for money must be a 2-bit charlatan. Sounds like a good way to derail any hope of getting at the truth. Are these the famous freepers? I'm just new here.

What exactly is Palast looking into? The criminal probe that involved possible money laundering to the GOP to pay for fixing the vote? or the related Cybernet Scandle funneling money to the GOP, that resulted in the Cybernet CEO killing himself when it was found out about? I don't have as much backgroun on this as others on this thread? There's too much info and not enough summary.

77. Palast's weekly e-mailing
Greg Palast, im my opinion, is one of the few real journalists in this country. He does a lot of work for the BBC, a reputable news organization if ever there was one. This is the text of his weekly e-mailing.......

WHY HAVEN'T THEY COUNTED A QUARTER MILLION VOTES IN OHIO?

Live nationwide on Pacifica radio and at KPFT.org
Jesse Jackson and Greg Palast

On Saturday, from 6pm-9pm EST, Rev. Jackson joins investigative
reporter Greg Palast to ask what happened to nearly a quarter million votes,
overwhelmingly from African-American precincts, not counted in Ohio.

For BBC Television, Palast uncovered the fake felon list that swiped
the election in 2000; this year, his report on BBC television broke the
story of the secret Republican "caging" lists that bent the November
race.

The smell of Black ballots burning is hard to ignore. We need your
help to continue this investigation into the votes not counted in Ohio,
New Mexico and Florida. Behind the by-line "Greg Palast" in Harper's,
The Nation and the Guardian is an investigative team that is now running
perilously low on funding. While Greg Palast has donated 100% of his
royalties from his bestseller, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, to the
effort, we're still in the red.

We're asking you to keep this investigation going by making a $50
tax-deductible donation to the Palast Investigative Fund ... in return we'll
send you as a thank you, the blistering documentary, "Bush Family
Fortunes" on DVD, signed by reporter Palast. The film is taken from
Palast's award-winning investigate broadcasts for BBC Television - the story
of the Bush-Bin Laden connection, the shoplift of the vote in Florida,
the secret plans for "Operation Iraqi Liberation" and other reports that
you can't see on your Fox-ified TV. Donate at
http://www.gregpalast.com/store.htm Donate before December 10 and
receive your signed DVD before Christmas via first class mail.

Catch the new flash animation from Bush Family Fortunes at
http://www.gregpalast.com/bff-dvd.htm

This is the film Jesse Jackson says, "You must see." That Senator John
Edwards calls "Important and disturbing." Katherine Harris says
Palast's reporting is, "Twisted and maniacal." Maybe that's why Noam Chomsky
says Palast, "Upsets all the right people."

Other gift choices in return for your tax-deductible donation, all
shipped within a week of donation via first class mail:

The Book: "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy: New Special Election
Edition," (Penguin 2004) signed by the author, for a minimum $50 donation.

The Cards: "Joker's Wild: Dubya's Trick Deck" - Tarot-sized
four-color cards ... the illustrated satirical version of The Best Democracy
Money Can Buy, for a minimum donation of $25, signed by the author.

The Audio Book: The five CD set from Penguin books of "The Best
Democracy Money Can Buy" read by the author with Ed Asner, Alec Baldwin,
Jello Biafra, Al Franken, Janeane Garofalo, Amy Goodman, Jim Hightower,
Cynthia McKinney, Alexandra Paul and Shiva Rose -- for a minimum donation
of $100.00

The Whole Enchilada: For a minimum donation of $200, we'll send you a
signed copy of the Special Election Edition of the book plus a signed
copy of the cards, plus a signed copy of the 5-CD audio book, plus a
signed copy copy of the DVD, "Bush Family Fortunes."

We don't take corporate money. We don't have big funders. Our readers
keep us alive. Please donate now at http://www.GregPalast.com/store.htm
