Brothels Ask Exemption From Smoking Ban
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 8:12 a.m. ET

SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- Brothel owners in the southern state of Victoria have called for an exemption to a new ban on smoking in the workplace, saying customers like to light up after sex.

The Australian Adult Entertainment Industry has written to Victoria's health minister arguing that new laws banning smoking in bars and brothels could push prostitution back into the streets, according to a report in the Sunday Herald Sun newspaper.

4. Hi there! We actually have a 'family first' senator; but on the
bright side One Nation appears to have been ground into the dust :).

Move here? What kind of place where you thinking about?

3. can't see their argument on this one
if pokies didn't go bankrupt after the smoking bans then brothels wont, generall people don't sit around in brothels for hours, they go in, pick their poison and at max an hour later out they come again.

there might be one or two hardcore smokers who even while screwing need to chain smoke but not enough to effect the bottom line, my educated guess here is the push comes from staff and owners rather than customers.
