1. That is a Scottish (Scotland) readership survey I would think.....
...based on the questions, so I disqualified myself at the end

I'm from Canada, so i'm not really sure who i'd vote for in the UK election since I don't know that much about the parties. So I guess the survey isn't very valid for me.

Crime and punishment, internationalism

Your position on this axis is -3.4
You are likely to be fairly internationalist and rehabilitationist.
Economics, etc

Your position on this axis is -0.5
You are likely to be slightly socialist and anti-war.

I also think i'm more left wing that what the chart shows.

**Even though I'm not British, it was interesting to see how liberal I am in a country who's population has been more liberal on many issues than the US.**

-----------------

I seem to be further to the left on international issues than I thought I was, and I'm more centrist on economics than what I thought I was.

6. 'left' on crime/internationalism, centrist on economy/Iraq
But I think the way they've combined those categories is wrong. I would say that a pro or anti Iraq war position matches much more closely with the internationalist/Euroscpetic position of someone. And I'm not so sure that you can necessarily put a 'hard line crime and punishment' attitude together with a Eurosceptic attitude.

I end up a pretty typical Guardian reader.

This worries me (on the economic/Iraq war attitude):

Significantly to your left About the same Significantly to your right
18 to 34 13.4% 53.3% 33.4%
35 to 54 23.9% 52.6% 23.5%
55+ 28.0% 48.3% 23.7%

That means that younger people are more right wing than older ones. What is the future going to be like?

That was funny. 3.3% of the population is on my left. :-)

I'm an atypical financial times reader, and i'm on the right wing
of the BNP regarding freemarkets and war? I answered those questions
as strongly disagree, methinks a wuggly bug is in there.

90% of women and 85% of men are on my right.

I wish they'd incorporate the libertarian/authoritarian axis, as it
makes more sense than this euroskeptic/rehabilitationist axis.

8% of libdems are too my left.... i feel so cozy. :-)

On edit (nominated... fun test!.. thanks.)

8. I agree about the orientation of the axis
because there are some on the left who are both Eurosceptic and are "rehabilitationist". Although it's probably just there to differentiate itself from the Political Compass.

10. I'm apparenty Green AND Conservative
http://politicalsurvey2005.com/survey/AAGBLACGCCBCADEDCDDBBDCBCCDDDBDEBCBEBDAADB

In economic terms I can see how I could be interpreted as being center/center right on the British scale. I am very pro free trade, and from what I can tell, I think British taxes only need some minor tinkering, with the overall level of tax remaining the same.

I also tend to be fairly rehabilitationist, although I do believe in the death penalty (only for serial killers/rapists and mass murderers).

So I guess I average out to be a Labour voter.
