Hi folks. Back again after a sad week.
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 04:47 AM by non sociopath skin
Dad passed away in hospital on Sunday after a short illness and was cremated yesterday. Fortunately, his death was peaceful and I was able to be with him at the end, as I had always promised.

Dad was a fine, though unassuming, man who never failed to do what he felt to be right and in a life often dogged by ill health always faced things with tenacity and wry humour. A good sportsman in his youth, he served his country bravely with the RAF in wartime and worked hard throughout his life. He was the kind of dad who, without you really noticing it, has a profound and positive effect on the way you see the world.

I shall miss him terribly.

8. Deepest sympathies
Apart from the "sportsman" bit, you could have been describing my dad
(who passed away ~15 years ago) so I empathise with you.

Best of luck,

Nihil

11. A life well lived.
What better way to be remembered.

My father died over 20 years ago but I think about him often. In some ways your parents are always with you.

14. Thanks to everyone who posted on this strand ...
.. on behalf of the whole family.

My mother was deeply moved by the fact that friends from half a world away were touched by dad's passing.

I love you guys.
