Any chance of American refugee getting a college teaching job up there?
I'm keeping my eye on the exit in case the conservatives go Hutu on us here, and I'm wondering if it's possible to to get a comparable job.

1. Depends on what you teach
and at what level. Qualified professors are always wanted. If you teach a trade that's in demand (right now that's just about all of them) you'll be able to find work. Worst case scenario public high schools are desperate for math, science, and technology teachers.

3. College here
is more of a trade school. You either go there, or to university after high school.

By all means come on up. We need teachers at all levels.

In Ontario alone, we'll need 11,000 profs within 5 years as boomers retire.

A degree allows you to teach high school...good job, good pay.

There's a whole list of colleges and universities online...or pick your province and email the Department of Education there.

Each province has one...we are far more centralized than the US. They can explain everything for the entire province, and most provinces are similar in requirements.

4. A little hyperbolic don't you think?
If a situation that was actually akin to Rwanda happened down there, yes you'd be a refugee. But as it is now you wouldn't be considered a refugee, there'd have to be a whole lot more going on.
