Harper's Address

Mr. Harper, your pants are on fire.

no "democratic right" to form government.

"The opposition is attempting to impose this deal without your say, without your consent, and without your vote," Harper said.

My apologies to Jon Stewart for borrowing his line.

1. Yeah, no kidding, eh?

I need someone to talk me down. I very nearly threw my drink at the teevee machine.

The thing is, I find this hatred of "separatists" totally disingenuous, especially from Mr. "Build a Firewall around Alberta." Does the average Albertan Tory voter really care if Quebec separates? I think not (and my Albertan Tory voting aunts, uncles, and cousins, back me up on that.)

I'm really sick of hearing that this is some sort of "coup", or a "subversion of democracy", or an "overthrow." Mr. Harper, welcome to the parliamentary system - YOU ARE NOT A PRESIDENT. Gawd.

3. I felt for them

At first, they were so awkward, didn't know how to call him out on the lies, without seeming partisan. But, at least they did call him out. Someone had to.

Will have all his members come to the GG to say that they don't have confidence in the present situation.

Seems like an attempt to prevent Harper from crushing an egg and choking the chicken.

Should have the fellow with the rod smash open the doors of the house and allow a vote.
