The Canadian Press

The grieving family of Cpl. Anthony Boneca wept as the remains of the fallen soldier, killed in a firefight in Afghanistan, were returned to Canada.

A plane carrying the body of the 21-year-old reservist touched down at CFB Trenton in eastern Ontario just before 7 p.m. this evening.

Boneca's casket, draped in a Canadian flag, was carried by pallbearers from a Canadian Forces plane to a waiting hearse on the airfield.

Gov. Gen. Michaëlle Jean, Defence Minister Gordon O'Connor and Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Rick Hillier were also on hand for repatriation ceremony.

1. I watched the video
the link is in the right hand column. How very sad. His parents/family are devastated. Bless them for allowing us to see this young Canadian come home.

GWB won't allow the press or photos. Shame on him.

2. Harper tried to stop media coverage as well but he had to back down
due to Canadians' outrage. Harper is finding out that mirroring his hero's policies isn't a good idea, lol.
