3. I wonder how Harper will interpret this?
The N.S. Conservatives lost two seats, but picked in the popular vote a bit (I think). The NDP did well, so that might be seen as a positive for Layton as far as the long-term strategy of supplanting the Liberals goes.

5. Hmm...good question...
...I can't really answer it though, cause I don't know a whole lot about NS politics. But what I do know is that the Tories in NS are a lot more moderate than western, and most Ontario ones (in general). So while I'd assume there are significant links between the provincial Tories, and the federal Conservatives, a drop in support for the provincial party may not mean a whole lot for the federal ones because of the ideological diffrences.

7. Yes, every province's political culture is different
Still, the sense of momentum at the federal level (the perception of the electorate, I mean) won't be helped by this.

4. I like the official results from Elections Nova Scotia...
...because it includes a map, indications of who the prominent candidates, regional results, and of course individual and province wide results.
