Ideas to Beat Sensenbrenner??
He's in the only CD (5) that is solidly Republican. All the others are basically swing.

That said, he'd be wonderful to get rid of and deserves to go for jumping the shark in his actions.

Has anyone heard anything about people thinking of running against him? He's got more money than is relevent for a House race ($12 million or something like that), so its an expensive, uphill proposition.

But I want this guy out.

1. Bryan Kennedy is running again
Following the Melissa Bean model of running once to build up recognition and $, running again to win.

2. Lets hope he doesn't follow Bean too far to the right...
But I think it's a winning strategy. Looking forward to helping Bryan more this time.

p.s. I went to high school with Melissa...

3. Only issue there is that a liberal CANNOT win in the 5th district.
I would be willing to tolerate a fairly conservative Democrat just to get Sensenbrenner out.

4. The Lesser of two evils, type thing, I suppose.
I'd have to agree. But I think Bryan would be good and also effective.

9. Bryan paints himself as a moderate/populist
Kind of John Edwards-ish, I think.

His views on many things are actually pretty liberal, but he packages them as common-sense, pro-family ideas.

Many of the ideas on how to beat Sensenbrenner are "academeic" - that is, this is what you would/should go about doing from a political point of view to take on an incumbant in a district friendly to him.

None of that changes the fact that Sensenbrenner is one of the strongest incumbants in the entire country. That's just reality.

That said, I think what you do is you need to beat him up enough between the disgusting national Republican behavior and anything offensive he has done that you can sound bite so that he drops out of the 60's. If you can get him down into the mid-50's, the race becomes plausible.

You then need a strong candidate with a couple million bucks who can connect with the densely populated regions right outside of Milwaukee, particularly the blue collar regions like West Allis and the city of Waukesha itself. Unless you're more anti-tax than Sensenbrenner is, you aren't going to pick up any votes away from him in the Lake Country.

That's where I live, btw. It's a lovely slice of rich and almost-rich Republican America. They vote their economics more than anything.

The one good thing is you don't need as much money as he has - you simply can't spend $12 million in a House race in the 5th CD.

8. What can we do to help Bryan Kennedy? I would be willing to do what
ever it takes to get Sensenbrenner out. Here is a bumper sticker I made a while ago. According to the Washington Times a Republican politician made the statement I used, but I never found out who made the statement.

feel free to download it. :hi: :loveya:  :pals: :woohoo:

10. I think it would take a scandal
of some sort to get rid of him. That assumes it would be reported on though.
