1. That's Paul Ryan's district, right?
I can never remember the district numbers except for the one I'm in and Dave Obey's, the one I grew up in.

4. I work in the 1st district
But reside in the 2nd. The 1st used to be reliably Dem, despite the presence of Walworth County. What happened?

And why do District Dems persist in nominating a proven loser (Thomas) when given a viable alternative (Bell)? Is it because of the dominating presence of Janesville, the home of Thomas and Ryan? If so, can't a credible candidate be fielded from that city? Perhaps someone from the local labor movement?

5. I don't know what happened with Bell either...
Turnout was unspectacular for that primary, though, so maybe it was one of those things (ballot order? Familiarity with a perpetual candidate? Discomfort with the name Chester?).

Chet Bell was also a little late coming onto the Web...but I don't think Thomas even had a Web site...so, who knows?

6. What convention?
From what I understand about Bell he did a horrible job of campaigning. His door knocking and his other grass roots efforts were terrible so at the end of the day I guess Thomas won the primary again.
