So why are the Repubs running as Dems in WI primaries
called "protest candidates"? Why not "fake Democrats"? Why not "jackasses"? OK, that last one isn't going to happen, but why is the media spinning it for the candidates? And why are they getting 30% of the vote. I'm just...pissed, I guess.

1. They want to delay the recall elections. It's legal, it's gamesmanship,
so just like the senators leaving the state to avoid the vote back in November pissed off Republicans, this pisses us off.

I live in Wisconsin and it's just another hurdle for us to get over and we had better get used to it and learn to anticipate the Republicans' moves and be 2 steps ahead of them.

The bottom line: Republicans play to win and do whatever they need to do in order to accomplish that. We need to be better and smarter than they are and not be surprised or put on the defensive by their actions.

4. I live in WI, too.
I understand it is legal, but have a problem with the ethics of it.

I don't think this is quite the same as the 14 leaving. That was a procedural reality; this is Buckstaff (in my case) lying about being a Dem and non-Dems voting in the Dem primary. Legal--I understand. Still shitty.

6. It's legal so ethics have nothing to do with it.
We need to get over the fact that Republicans don't play by some pretty and nice rules.

I don't think the "fake" Democrats pretended to be anything other than what they are and there is no requirement for them to be Democrats.

It doesn't matter if you or I believe the 14 leaving was ok, it's that the Republicans looked upon it as a dirty move and shitty and cowardly so they believe turnaround is fair play, especially if it is legal.

8. I don't think it was tightly orchestrated
Where I observed there were a number of people who were amazed when they found that Darling was not on the ballot, so they obviously had not received a message to vote for the fake. I would not be surprised if many Republicans who love their candidates went out to vote for them on their own, just because of the right-wing brainwashing that goes on constantly.

Wake up Wisconsin these NEOCON fucks have declared war on us common folks and they won’t be happy till they have it all. They already own all the branches of government, headed up by the GAB.

10. If you think we were playing softball, you need to read post #9
I am fully aware the pukes are playing hardball. If you think the Dems are, you're not paying attention.

I have issues with the DEMS as well as the REPUBS but make no mistake on which side I stand on THIS NEOCON WISCONSIN TAKEOVER. I have the notches on my protest banner to prove it!

7. Unlike many Democrats, Republicans play to win
Why is the phrase "The end justifies the means" so difficult for Democrats to understand? The Republicans take winning seriously, and know they will be forgiven for their sins because they believe in their savior.

9. We won. WTF more do you want?
We kicked ass in every race - the closest still 8 points apart.

There was nothing in WI law to keep the fake pukes off the ballot, so we turned it on them.

The DPW was behind this big time and behind doing it right. We don't have to cheat. We don't have to ask for forgiveness. They look like the shitbags they are and we made sure on every phone call and every door we knocked that we spread the word of their shitbagginess.

"Republican dirty tricks" and "fake Democrats" were in every script and some of us ad libbed further, like I did by pointing out that a vote for the Dem was a vote for honest elections.

We won the battle and we're winning the messaging war for the long haul. In the minds of so many more voters the Republican party is becoming synonymous with douchebaggery - a killer meme in a state that still values clean elections and being nice, as in Wisconsin Nice.

You can say screw the rules and still win the battle, but that's missing the bigger picture of the whole war.

Against sociopaths you'll lose the war every time. Especially in the state of Wisconsin.

Too bad that chip you have on your shoulder for the Dem party kept you from seeing all that.

15. Sandy Pasch even won Alberta Darling's village
River Hills, where lots are a minimum of 5 acres and often much bigger, turned out more voters for Pasch than for the fake.

Yes the DPW is orchestrating the recall effort and credit is due but let’s not forget to mention that there were a lot of individuals who are standing side by side with the Democrats and the Unions. People who are non union and have no political affiliation they just felt they had to act because it is gravely wrong that Herr Walker and his NEOCON MINNIONS are trampling over Wisconsin ideals, beliefs and history. When I was canvassing in Distinct 14 for the recall of Olsen I met people who had driven up from Chicago to participate and I met a lady from Michigan.

So a stance from the Liberty Song:

Then join hand in hand, brave Americans all,
By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall;
In so righteous a cause let us hope to succeed,
For heaven approves of each generous deed. .

13. I was glad that I kept even hearing about the 'fake Dems' on
on news from Minneapolis/St. Paul stations. Expose them, and their tactics (the repubs) for what they are.

I am guessing the OP is just frustrated, like many of us, who never think of not playing by the rules. I know this running of 'fake' candidates is 'by the rules' but it doesn't mean we have to like it, and that it won't rub us the wrong way.

Yes, I know the repubs play to win, and will use anything at their disposal to get their way. The fact that they all seem to march in lockstep rubs us the wrong way too. But we might as well holler at the moon, they are what they are.

I'm ecstatic that the real Dems had such good showings last night, and happy that no matter what gets tossed in our way, WE WILL PREVAIL.
