Repub WTF call...on my home phone

So this call comes in with caller ID saying "out of area" and a "608" area code...

I didn't answer but some time later noticed that there was a voice mail which said,


"Hi I'm XXXXXXX calling for John McCain, the next President of the United States. I'm from the Madison area but I'm going to be in Marshfield for a few days and would like to meet personally with you. If your caller ID didn't pick up my number it's 608-xxx-xxxx and I'd really like to set up a time when we could meet."

I'm on every Democratic mailing list in the Western Hemisphere so

1) how did this Repub get my name?
2) He wants to MEET with me? Not terribly efficient I would say......

Is this weird?

I know we're on the same Dem lists as ewag but the pukes have probably spent a hundred bucks sending us a couple of flyers a day and calling our house at least 3 times a week.

Go ahead. Suck up those resources, ewag. And maybe bring someone along to hide in the bushes with a camera - in case the guy isn't who he says he is.


edited to add that we had one of those 608 calls show up on our caller ID but they didn't leave a message. $10 bucks says it's the same dude.
