(West Virginia) Young Democrats to hold debates
State Young Democrats will host debates between candidates for Congress, state Supreme Court and secretary of state at their annual state convention next weekend in Charleston.

The debates will be open to the public. The convention begins Friday and concludes with a general session Sunday morning.

Candidates for the 2nd Congressional District seat are expected to debate Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Center. Richie Robb, Anne Barth and Thornton Cooper, all Kanawha County residents, are vying for the right to face incumbent Republican Rep. Shelley Moore Capito.

State Sen. Billy Wayne Bailey, House Majority Leader Joe DeLong and former television anchor Natalie Tennant, candidates for secretary of state, will square off in a 10 a.m. debate on April 5.

State Supreme Court Chief Justice Elliott "Spike" Maynard will debate Cabell County lawyer Menis Ketchum, former Supreme Court justice Margaret "Peggy" Workman and West Virginia University law professor Bob Bastress at 2 p.m. Saturday.

1. Important to Attend
It is important for every registered voter before voting to attend these types of gatherings. It not only gives you a chance to meet the candidates but you can get a real feel for the person.

You can tell if they are genuine or if they are feeding you a line of crap.
