Christine Gregoire Democrat 219878 41.69% Dino Rossi Republican 295665 56.06% Ruth Bennett Libertarian 11817 2.24%
Thirteen more counties reporting and Rossi picking up and passing Gregoire for the net change--Rossi now up a NET fifteen votes. Of the remaining counties, Gregoire needs to pick up an average of just over 15 votes/county to reverse the county-certified outcome (technically, the state will not certify until Dec 2)
The latest ten counties to have completed and reported:
Adams--Gregoire +12 (1529), Rossi +27 (3486) Benton--Gregoire +1 (19831), Rossi +2 (44890) Chelan--Gregoire +3 (10077), Rossi +1 (18437) Clallam--Gregoire +1 (16226), Rossi +1 (18832) Douglas--Gregoire +2 (4359), Rossi +4 (8666) Garfield--Gregoire +1 (428), Rossi +1 (840) Island--Gregoire -0- (16888), Rossi +1 (19997) Jefferson--Gregoire +1 (10642), Rossi -4 (7289) Lewis--Gregoire +2 (10245), Rossi +4 (20842) Lincoln--Gregoire -0- (1850), Rossi +1 (3686) Mason--Gregoire +1 (11788), Rossi +2 (12507) Stevens--Gregoire -0- (6992), Rossi -0- (12296) Thurston--Gregoire +2 (58955), Rossi +4 (49413)
In any event, State Dem Chair Paul Berendt said about 2 hours ago that there WILL be a hand recount. GOP Chair is already on the airwaves trying to draw comparisons to FLA 2000. Bring 'em on, I say!
