Chris Bell to form an exploratory committee for a run for governor

Rep. Chris Bell, D-Houston, who lost his primary in March, said he plans to form an exploratory committee for a run for governor and will join a Houston law firm next month.

Bell is the lawmaker who challenged the ethics of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Sugar Land, over fund raising and using federal resources to pursue missing Texas legislators in 2003. The ethics committee admonished DeLay for his aggressive tactics.

1. Chris Bell is great. I would support him in any office.

He has an uphill climb, of course, but TX politics can be funny.
He is a straight shooter, which is a big plus for him.
Texans appreciate risk-takers who make principled stands in the face of adversity. Chris Bell is certainly that and a great guy to boot.

All of my best wishes to him, I'll be keeping track of what he does.

2. Very good councilman too

I like him when he was a councilman. When he was attacked by another Dem, he did not lower to his level. Big plus here in Houston.
