Just found out about this Energy Star rebate program

The local news did a little segment on this & here's a link I found after I did a google search. Looks like we can get rebates for buying more efficient appliances (see the list) AND a $75 recycling rebate as well. :thumbsup:

Everyone note that you have to apply/reserve your rebate before you buy.

NOTE - the rebate program will not be retroactive. It will only apply to purchases made once the program officially begins in April 2010.

Rebate Process: Consumers will have an opportunity to reserve an appliance rebate by calling a toll-free number or registering online approximately two weeks prior to April 16, 2010. After the reserved mail-in rebates are awarded, any remaining funds will be rebated to consumers on a first-come, first-served basis. Shoppers will be limited to two appliance rebates and two recycling rebates per household.

2. the way they explained it is you have 2 weeks to sign up for the rebates

afterwards, they are on a first come, first served basis. Either way, it's a good idea to plan ahead (if you can) so you can take advantage of this. :)

I got a fridge & ceiling fan last year during the tax free energy star weekend. And I also need a new a/c...those are rather pricey, but with the rebates, may be more in reach than right now.
