Some top Texas Democrats Endorse Schieffer (despite Bush support)
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/082609dnmetschieffer.11c0709c7.html

I don't know exactly what to think of this. I generally don't have a problem with Schieffer in the sense that he seems like a Democrat that could win the governorship.

On the other hand, he's good friends with GWB and served in the administration. It's hard to fathom voting for such a someone.

Then again, despite some progress in Texas, we still need to attract some moderate to conservative voters in order to win this election. The Perry-Hutchison race might push some of these voters our way. Is Schieffer the guy to pick these voters up?

5. Teddy Kennedy and Orin Hatch
politics makes strange bedfellows, and Obama kept Gates and he had to have had a hand in the ginning up of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

6. I couldn't vote for him either...

"Schieffer has been struggling to win over hard-core Democrats because he was business partners with former President George W. Bush and served in his administration as ambassador to Japan and Australia, where he had to defend the policy of indefinite detention of terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba."

8. I'm SO surprised
Not. Schieffer has a bunch of puke money behind him. I'm thinking he's a puke plant.
