Anyone forming a protest? Folks from Houston might like to attend.

1. John we still don't have any appearance details
We had a get out the vote protest today with many anti-DeLay signs. My favorite was "Put the hammer in the slammer" with appropriate DeLay behind bars graphic.

Some people we spoke with were saying he can be deposed in Houston (where his lawyers are) or anywhere he agrees to meet the attorneys. It does not have to be in the court where the trial is to occur. I'm not a lawyer so I don't know if that's true.

If you hear otherwise let us know. Likewise we will keep you posted if we find out different.

Attorneys file motion to halt DeLay testimony
House majority leader won't give deposition Monday, attorney says
http://www.statesman.com/metrostate/content/auto/epaper/editions/saturday/metro_state_14a73086e12340fd1032.html
"Lawyers for House Majority Leader Tom DeLay on Friday stopped an effort to force the Texas Republican to testify in a civil lawsuit.

DeLay's attorney Andy Taylor filed a motion asking a state district judge in Travis County to throw out a subpoena compelling DeLay to testify in a lawsuit filed by Democratic state Rep. Lon Burnam, D-Fort Worth, against the Texas Department of Public Safety. Burnam said he wanted to know more about DeLay's role in marshaling federal resources to track down Democrats who fled the state in a redistricting dispute. The deposition will not go forward on Monday, Taylor said. "
