Texas official: Obama plotting with terrorists

AUSTIN — State Board of Education member Cynthia Dunbar isn't backing down from her claim that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is plotting with terrorists to attack the U.S.

The Texas Freedom Network, a watchdog group that monitors the board, released a public statement Monday asking Dunbar to retract the statement.

"I don't have anything in there that would be retractable," said Dunbar, R-Richmond. "Those are my personal opinions and I don't think the language is questionable."

In a column posted on the Christian Worldview Network Web site, Dunbar wrote that a terrorist attack on America during the first six months of an Obama administration "will be a planned effort by those with whom Obama truly sympathizes to take down the America that is threat to tyranny."

Count Cynthia Dunbar as one of those 1 in 4 Texans who believe Obama is a Muslim too. She's an obvious idiot and I am embarrassed Texas has her in any official capacity at all.

On this day of all days - the day Obama is grieving the loss of his grandmother, this dingbat Reich wingnut is spewing Texas sized republican hate. May Dunbar rot in hell for all eternity. :grr:

I for one want to apologize to Barack for the nuts in Texas. And I am so sorry for the loss of his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham. May she rest in peace.

1. Friend, we are not responsible for the Texas Nut
any more than we are for the violent hurricanes that destroy our beloved Gulf Coast.

What we, these few brave Texas souls who daily deal with this, should feel, rather than shame - is proud.

I am proud of every fellow Texas Democrat - those who post here and share their experience and advise - and those who simply and silently cast their ballot (afraid to let their neighbors know how they voted).

I'm now off to get a good night's rest before tomorrow - and a long day alternate judging in a very red precinct. Up until Friday, the reds were quiet. The poll news has made a few of them ugly. I've been insulted and mocked three times in 24 hours.

I see that as a sign of their FEAR.

Good luck to you tomorrow - and don't let the nuts get you down. You're fighting the good fight.

Rest in peace, Mrs. Dunham. And thanks.

3. She's my member, and *I* sure didn't vote for her.
Next time I'm going to do more and support the heck out of her opponent - she needs to go.

4. This is *our* Cynthia Dunbar?
I guess so, since TFN says it's her and she acknowledged the article, but I sure didn't know *this* about her (from the nasty post):

Cynthia Noland Dunbar, Esq. has been a licensed, practicing attorney for over 17 years and has dedicated much of her practice to the area of appellate law. She has studied and researched the law on numerous Constitutional and Common Law issues that framed our nation. A graduate of Regent University Law, she was the founding editor of the Regent University Law Review. She regularly speaks on constitutional, pro-life, conservative and legislative issues, and avidly defends our nation’s identity. She recently released her book One Nation Under God: How the Left Is Trying to Erase What Made Us Great, available now on Amazon.com at ...

Check out the law school! Much is explained.

Yep, it's her. Sorry for doubting. Here's the bio:

6. Does she remind you of Michelle Bachmann?
You know the other crazy wing nut who wanted the press to interview all the members of the media to see who else had anti-American views besides Obama?

Here's a trip down memory lane on Bachmann

Separated at birth? Perhaps - they both have "Dumbass" as their middle name.

7. No dg it's "Dumbass"
See my post above this. Those women look like each other.

Why is it that the right wingnuts are so similar - they actually start to look like each other.

Cynthia Dunbar's seditious attack on Obama shames Texas

Friday, November 07, 2008

It is shameful that Cynthia Dunbar is overseeing public education in Texas. She is an embarrassment who has brought heaping amounts of ridicule to this state.

Who is Cynthia Dunbar? She is an elected member of the State Board of Education, representing parts of Austin and Travis County. And she is author of a bizarre attack on President-elect Barack Obama published on the Christian Worldview Network.

In it, Dunbar says there will be a terrorist attack on America "by those with whom Obama truly sympathizes to take down the America that is threat to tyranny." She goes on in the pre-election rant to say Obama will use that attack to declare martial law and expand his powers.

(snip)
Education board elections occur under the radar, with few voters knowing anything about the candidates. In recent years, ultraconservatives have used the obscure nature of these elections to gain a foothold on the board to push a radical, anti-evolution, anti-intellectual agenda. And public education in Texas has suffered for it.

The problem is that Dunbar will read this editorial and be proud that she's gotten another 15 minutes of fame. No condemnation of Dunbar's seditious ravings from Governor Perry or Lt. Gov. Dewhurst. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to repudiate her rantings either.
