Bob Slagle very ill (cancer)
News out of today's SDEC meeting in Austin. Apparently he is not responding well to treatment.

Join me in sending a healing thought to Chairman Slagle for a rally and a recovery.

5. The rumors seem to be greatly exaggerated
Democratic consultant Ed Martin says former party chairman Bob Slagle "assures me he's going to live" in the wake of concerns over his health.

Martin says Slagle is getting treatment for something described in layman's terms as "pre-leukemia." That means his red and white blood cells aren't performing properly, Martin said.

"He has had an infection and is still dealing with a medical condition ... The doctors are telling him he should live another six or seven years if he behaves himself," Martin said. "As Mark Twain said, rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated."
