I know it must be true, because that is what I was told in Llano this weekend.

I was cleaning the windshield of my pickup Friday evening at a convenience store in Llano. A guy drove up beside me and said, "are you REALLY gonna' vote for Kerry?"

I have a Kerry/Edwards sticker on my right rear window (right above the Dean sticker which I still proudly display). I'm not sure whether he noticed the "Be Patriotic/Vote Bush Out, Regime Change 2004, Kick 'em out, Victory 2004, and I'm Pro Choice and I vote stickers?

I replied "Damn Straight!"

His response?: "You piece of Shit!"

I said "Gee, I hope that made you feel good." and under my breath "because it sure makes you look stupid."

He hemmed and hawed, and then said sort of out of the side of his mouth "well, I wish you well." and drove off.

On the brighter side, I saw a whole heck of a lot of Kerry/Edwards stickers in Fredericksburg on Saturday. The renewable energy expo was going on at Marketplatz. One also included a Lloyd Dogett sticker, so I knew they were from out of town.

Melodie and I wanted to go, but we didn't have the $10 ea. admission, so we just went over to T.J.'s Deli (I love that place) and split a peach cobbler.

the comment was made in Llano on Friday evening. The expo was in Fredericksburg (35 miles away) on Saturday.

and run into Elaine McCall, she's my aunt. Try to talk some sense into her. She's not voting.

I don't seem to be able to say much without her getting disgusted with BOTh parties.

good to hear from you -

we have an apartment in Austin, but are working on our place out in Llano - actually, it is halfway between Llano and Fredericksburg. Not many like minded souls out that way.

I usually just get dirty looks - or gestures. So I was kind of taken aback when the guy out there actually spoke. I just tried to let him know how small and stupid it made him look. I should have said something like:

"You just hate me for my freedoms." LOL

He and my aunt were undecided, but his one daughter is married to a Bush-loving family from Lubbock (he's a complete goober and a momma's boy). The guy's mother and dad are evidently big friends of the Bushies.

My mom was going to take them some of the videos we had (Outfoxed, Uncovered, Unprecedented), but the minute she walked into the living room this last time, there was a big autographed pic of George and Laura. So I guess we know what way they're voting. :eyes:

If you meet anyone with the last name Rennscheidt, they're related to me. Unfortunately.

We're glad you guys made it down safely! If we get to Austin anytime soon I'll let GOP and sonia and velma know. Maybe we can all hook up.

9. You could've done what i did........

I got flipped off in Dallas earlier this week by a guy in a pickup with one of those creepy "W The President" stickers. He thought he was getting away, but alas, traffic..... I got next to him and motioned him to roll down his window. When he did, all i said was, "After that, i'm honestly rethinking my position..." and smiled. My lane moved... he sat still.
