I have a cousin in Houston who wants to get involved down there
with the Kerry campaign. Do you know if there is a campaign
office down there or what groups are currently active in Houston
that I could hook her up with? My aunt called me and asked that
I find out.

6. August 18th will be the 21st anniversay of Hurricane Alicia

I remember Aug 18 1983 well. I was living in some apartments near Braeswood and Chimney Rock. We lost power at about 10pm that evening and didn't have any kind of battery backup, so didn't have any way of knowing if the dozens of tornadoes spawned by Alicia were headed our way. When the eye of the storm passed over Houston, some flying debris shattered my bedroom window and chaos ensued. Obvoulsy, I closed the door to the bedroom went into the living room. With all the power out and no way of getting information, it was the proverbial "dark and stormy night". I made it through okay, but will always remember the experience.

It was good to see my friends slutticus and Lisa0825 (and especially seeing her 20 lbs. lighter! Way to GO!)

And it was great to finally meet the thinker (keep fighting the good fight for Dennis out in Sugarland, tt)

And then we all went across town to meet some kindred spirits at the Michael Moore F9/11 Meetup.

A nice evening, and thanks to all y'all who made it so!
