Right-wing Cheney apologists
This just in from the Dallas Morning News blog
http://dallasmorningviews.beloblog.com/

"Look, the guy accidentally shot someone, the victim went to the hospital, and it appears the victim will recover. This happens in hunting quite a bit. I sprayed a pal when we were teenagers. Next subject." --William McKenzie

1. LOL - apparently peppering is a Texas sport
"The dentist also confirmed Bill McK's insight that if you're a quail hunter, you're bound to pepper somebody, or get peppered, at some point. Comes with the territory."

5. "Peppering..."
...sounds so much nicer than "shot in the heart," doesn't it?

3. Yeah but I think...
...most citizens have the incident reported to the authorities as soon as a gunshot victim shows up at the hospital. Also I don't think the shooter is allowed to wait until the next morning to talk to authorities about the incident.

To me this is the story. If someone shows up at an ER who has been shot and when the auhtorities want to talk the shooter, hunters included, does the shooter get to wait until the next morning to talk to authorities? Any lawyers out there know the legalities of this?

4. Not a big deal, if you report it promptly and take responsiibility
but it still raises a concern about one's competancy with fire arms.
However it IS a big deal if you don't follow hunting safety rules concerning the use of guns and fail to exercise common sense.

This obsession with keeping it secret only made it worse.
