Photographs by Richard Avedon-"In The American West"...
We went to this exhibit at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth...
It was stunning. It was emotionally draining. It was unlike anything i have been to before.
They are drifters. They are coal miners. They are carneys. They are truckers. They are meatpackers. They are waitresses.
Huge black and white prints, some up to (my guess) 8 feet by 4 feet. Every pore, every line around the eyes, every bit of life's pain in sharp crisp detail.

Simply told...a must see.

Some examples:

2. Avedon is great
These samples are stunning. We forgot that there is a whole other level of society that some may want to forget. This is America folks. They have lives and they have meaningful stories and this is why we fight for a better world for all.

Looks like a great exhibit.
