Hey! San Antone's got Air America now!
That oughta wake up some of the military sheeple a bit.

And when I say that, I mean the ones that insist that Cindy is hurting morale, NOT the ones who are waking up to the reality.

Welcome KKTX 103.1!

2. thats great to hear..........
Let the Brave Souls of South Texas tune in, turn on, drop out...... out of the GOP forever. I truly believe that once folks come out of the stupor of their willful ignorance, they can change their minds. BTW, I always listen by streaming over the internet, rebroadcast on FM Transmitter. In the Car I broke down and got XM Radio.....channel 167.

4. Does XM carry the entire AAR live broadcast?
1530 AM out of Ohio plays Randi during the Majority report time slot.
I think that they braodcast Ed Shultz from 3-7. I'm not an Ed fan.
The satellite service wouldn't be worth it if I couldn't get all of the shows.

9. that is a very good question.........
it pisses me off that I have to answer that with a NO. They carry everything normally up to 3:00PM EST. Instead of the first two hours of the Rhandi Rhodes show, they have Ed "Big Eddie" Schultz on. Now there is nothing wrong with Ed, the guy rocks, but he is just not the same as Rhandi. At 5:00, the Rhandi show comes on until 7:00 as usual. The Majority Report is there, but instead of Mike Malloy, they have Alan Combs on. I guess the thing is that somewhere up the food chain at XM resides Rupert Murdock, and he probably won't broadcast Mike. In a way this really sucks, but I am usually home by 10:00 and can listen to the regular feed on the AAR website. So there, a long answer, but I thought you would like the whole story. BTW, they reduced the price of the Delphi "Roady 2" to 50.00........so its really a nice unit for that price. Check it out at Crutchfields.

10. Thank you for the XM info.
I can get Malloy over the air on 1530 AM some of the time (If I want to sit in the driveway after 10 at night!) I can listen to the 1530AM Randi rebroadcast during the normal Majority Report time so XM might be a good choice for me. I'm disappointed that they don't broadcast Malloy. He and Randi are the real stars of AAR. I would never, ever listen to Alan Combs. :(

14. I find him very mushy and anyone from faux..........
anyway, I forgot to tell you the "Roady-2" will come out of the car and go in the house if you like, with a boom box adapter. Good Luck down in Texas. BTW, thanks for the correct spelling on "Randi's" name, I am listening to her now.

3. That's great...
for you out there in Texas. I hope that the rightwingers tune in!

Why do y'all have 2 AM and 2 FM stations? Heck, even LA has 3 stations. It's not fair, I tell you!

Here in GA, we have one underpowered AM station out of Atlanta. I can hear it several hundred miles from Atlanta on top of Signal Mountain, TN (near Chattanooga), but not just 60 miles to the east in Athens. I barely get reception in Athens and then only in the car. I actually get 1530 AM from Ohio after dark. Go figure.

Oh well, I'll have to listen on my PC at work. I haven't figured out how to stream over my Mac at home. :(

5. Cuz we're BIG!
We need that many for each of our big cities (Dallas, Houston, SA, and Austin) because they're pretty far from each other. Your time will come eventually.

Texas is actually blue in our cities, but redder in our suburbs. Maybe they're moving more slowly in to the Deep South. :D

7. Georgia is the biggest state east of the Mississippi River.
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 12:37 PM by CottonBear
I live in a blue city. Atlanta is blue too. The rest of the state is red and purple (Republicans rule the state government now) with a few more blue cities here and there.

The problem is that the big Atlanta AM station, 750Am WSB, broadcasts Boortz, Hannity and Savage all over the southeast. Most other AM stations broadcast Limbaugh. We have NPR stations in our major cities. That's pretty much it for progressive radio. There are college stations in Athens and Atlanta and other college towns. Those stations are mostly focused on music and not politics.

I hope you're right and that it will just be a matter of time until we get some more stations. :)

13. Ah. The Diebold problem brought to us by our Dem SoS, Cathy Cox
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 03:57 PM by CottonBear
just in time for the 2002 midterm elections. :(

We were the first state in the country to go 100% Diebold. It probably seemed like a good idea to Ms. Cox at the time (right after the 2000 Florida election debacle) but little did we know what was in store for us: the first Republican governor since reconstruction. :(
Not to mention, we lost Max Cleland to Saxby (sack o' shit) Chambliss and we lost Cynthia McKinney for a few years.

I'm praying that we can turn things around through overwhelming numbers of voters at the polls in 2006. I think the Diebold fraud only works when the elections are close. The right-wingers and the working folks are grumbling about gas prices and all of the military folks here in GA are bearing the terrible costs of the war (dead and wounded).

6. I worked at the agency that did the ads for the Army
during the "Be All You Can Be" era (we had a sane commander in chief back then). For the executives on the account, business trips consisted of going to Army bases which don't tend to be in America's business centers. But boy, did those executives love being sent to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio!

And if it's not too late, I'd like to welcome the AAR listeners in Montana, too--I'm really thrilled that they've touched down in such a red state!

8. It's good that they are there, but they need to upgrade their transmitter.
I got horrible reception in town this past weekend.

I can listen on the Austin station from San Marcos to near Temple.
