Thin-skinned council member sues over a swear word

A Bartlett woman is facing a jury trial on disorderly conduct charges after being accused of calling City Council Member Arthur White an obscene name at a local swimming pool.

The complaint, which was rejected by Bartlett police and a local justice of the peace before being accepted by a municipal court judge, pits the State of Texas against Vyki Robbins, an employee of the Texas Department of Health.

It's the latest flare-up of sometimes acrimonious politics in Bartlett, a town of about 1,600 on the Williamson-Bell county border.

"I'm embarrassed because I used the language, but I think it's pretty ridiculous," Robbins said Wednesday.

What do you think she called him? With her kid there, I would think it was asshole. From what I hear, that description would be apt. What a petty asshole, indeed. Wonder if we can get a delegation up to attend the trial.

If I took everyone who ever called me an asshole, I would never get out of court. It was not for nothing I was once known as the Austin Asshole! Retired so I was forced to pass the mantle, I suppose I can now be considered an asshole emeritus...
