1. no bloodletting, surprise!
Michael Moon chaired the meeting. Theresa Daniel got made temporary interim chair and we're going to have elections for permanent interim chair in the next, um 30 or 60 days, I'm not sure. They passed the resolution to correct the congressional record.

And, I got made a precinct chair. I was a little surprised to find out that I was one of two candidates. We both got up and said our little say and I got elected, surprise! I guess what with all that running around and doing stuff and volunteering and registering voters and whatnot I really did meet some people. So that was kinda cool. If I'd known I was going to have to speak in public :scared: I would have not worn my Polyphonic Spree t-shirt. They probably all think I'm like 23 or something. :7

There's more at Burnt Orange.

4. I showed up, ready to walk out if it turned ugly
Surprisingly, it went just like a regular meeting is supposed to. I got sworn in as Precinct Chair & was happy about that, though I was prepared to lead my precinct without the county party if the meeting had turned out to be a repeat of the Feb. 28 debacle.

Crispin had some friendly competition from another woman who wanted to chair the precinct. Good to know there's another activist in the precinct--I'm sure they'll team up to get out the vote!

7. It freaked me out a bit, honestly.
Nobody told me there was another nominee, so I thought it was a mistake until they read my name too. And then I was like, "So what happens now?" Anyhoo, I guess it just goes to show how big my precinct is -- I've never even met her, and we did a block walk in my neighborhood and everything!

12. Thanks!
Sorry you guys couldn't make it. Oh well, next time -- and there WILL be a next time, eh? According to BOR, Bruce Rothstein's thrown his hat in the ring for chair too.

9. The meeting was very productive
I knew it would be better than the last one, but it was also one of the more productive ones I've been to in years.

It started mostly on time and the new precinct chairs (sixty of them!) were sworn in early in the meeting. Getting all of these vacant spots filled is a huge accomplishment.

From a logistical standpoint, it was also superb: smooth sign-in, central location (Fair Park) and nice auditorium (no damn folding chairs).
