NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
State Rep. Julia Hurley, a Republican from Lenoir City, admits that she cut her initials into her desk on the House floor. Channel 4 first reported the carvings on Hurley's desk last Friday.

She told the Knoxville News Sentinel paper she did it during a late-night session in May and doesn't understand why it would be considered news.

Speaker Beth Harwell said Tuesday that Hurley's initials will be removed at the Republican lawmaker's expense...
