Interesting ethics article on Corker
I remember he was attacking Ford on ethics and saw this at a Chattanooga board and thought I'd share it. Hopefully Jackson4Gore will see this and be able to pass it along to Ford to check out himself.

Snip: <I read this heartwarming missive about Bob Corker calling for new ethics reforms and was warmed inside, both suddenly and forcibly. Not by good feelings, mind you — but by the soda I was drinking as it was forced into my sinuses from drinking it while unexpectedly laughing.

You see, the thought of Republican Senate candidate Bob Corker espousing the virtues of ethics reform brought me unexpectedly back to a time in 2003 when he stood behind me in the doorway to his chief of staff’s office while his staff questioned my refusal to cut off press releases to Nashville while I served as the spokesman for the Chattanooga Police Department. It was their opinion that Nashville “didn’t need to see Chattanooga’s dirty laundry,” and that I should remove them from my distribution lists.

I explained that they received my press releases, good news and bad, because they had requested to be on there as all other media outlets had, and had in fact done so within weeks of the mayor’s office requesting me to remove them.

By department policy, I was obligated to abide by their wishes, so I asked what I was to tell them when they inquired why they were abruptly removed from my releases. I was told to tell them nothing. When I replied that I had neither an ethical nor technical reason to do so and in lieu of such I would tell them that I was simply ordered by Mayor Corker’s office to do so, fists were pounded on desks and air pressure dropped from the gasping of breath at my audacity, and lo but was I greeted by the face of Bob Corker himself who opened the office door behind me and poked his head in to sternly stare at me and ask, “Are we clear now?” >
