Why we should all switch to the GOP
Now before everyone starts flaming this post, let me explain why the best thing we could do for our country is for everyone here to quietly switch parties and join the Republicans. Urban legends say that George Washington was vehemently against introducing political parties into the fledgling democracy for fear of what we have today. I don’t know if this is true, but it sounds nice. It has been well known that our two party system of government has been frustrating to say the least and that any previous attempts of breaking up the quagmire with a legitimate third party is just not happening and in many instances has made things worse (i.e. no Green Party with Nader, Gore wins Florida in 2000.) Recently the two-party system has been more about winning for the party than providing any actual positive change or service for the people for whom they were elected to serve. Since no party wants to be seen as a loser, each strives for deadlock, gridlock and stagnation. A tie is viewed as a win as the opponent has not won. A non-win is not a loss. Pretty messed up if you ask me. So if a third party won’t fix the system, the only other choice to drop down to a single party. But why the GOP you ask? Let me tell you why.

First, Democrats, liberals or whatever you want to call the majority of readers on these forums have long term vision on issues when compared to many in the GOP. While we look at long term issues such as the environment, education, healthcare, and the meaningful tax reform, the GOP as of late is mostly focused on the immigrants coming over our borders TODAY, Osama coming over to your house TONIGHT and married homosexual sending their kids to the same school they send theirs TOMORROW. How else can you explain when every rational person looks at Iraq, they more or less says that to finish this job properly will take decades while the voices in the GOP says “we’re almost there”. So naturally those with Democrat views would be more willing to sign up for “Operation Purple State” with thoughts that the change that will take place in the future, starts today. I personally think that although each has their share, there are more altruistic people in the Democratic Party and more selfish people in the GOP. Has there been a more altruistic calling in a speech in recent years than Democratic President Kennedy’s infamous “ask not what your country can do for you” line? So follow JFK do it for your country.

To go under cover requires discipline, intelligence and thought, three words never in the same sentence with hard core GOP members. Can you honestly see a Michelle Malkin clone trying to do the same thing in reverse? As Dana Carvey as George Bush 41 said so well “aint gonna happen.” Just memorize a few talking points to laugh it up with your new Conservative GOP friends and the mission is a go! Blah blah blah immigrants…blah blah blah activist judges….cut and run….cut and run….See! It’s easy!

So we all switch over the GOP. Now what? Here is where it gets good. Since the majority of the GOP is handcuffed to a maniacal minority, flooding the GOP party with more moderates and secret agent liberals makes their numbers even less plus it lets us in on their plans. I believe that there is a moderate majority in the GOP who, more or less, agree with a lot of views of their fellow moderates on the Democratic side, but are just being out-shouted by the Conservatives. Isn’t funny how those in the most denial shout the loudest? Anyways, here is where we get to act like Rambo and go into that hell-hole and free our trapped brothers and sisters. More important than just adding numbers to their rolls, we are adding activist members. These are people willing to run for office, work for issues and more importantly be seen and be heard. What a lot of those Conservatives need is a group of people, in their own party to out shout them and tell them to STFU. In the meantime, more and more moderate candidates get vetted by the party process while squeezing out the maniacal minority. The potential is limitless here.

In the end, we have a GOP party in name only; instead we have a new Moderate Majority party where then real constructive dialogs can be conducted. Some will bend to the left, and others to the right, but the difference is that I think there is a greater potential for finding working solutions. You can see how this can snowball into something really positive and progressive for the country. In time we can even rename the party if the name bothers some. Instead of arguing over whether or not there should be Universal Healthcare, the arguing is over the how much coverage we have. It’s a start and much better than we’ll be anytime soon under the current system. Plus as an added bonus, FOX News broadcasts will be mighty boring if there is only one party left, and that party boycotts them. That idea alone almost makes the whole thing worth it. I have to stop now as the idea of a TV world with no Hannity and crew makes me giddy. So remember, “Operation Purple State” is a covert operation so nobody pull a Rove and leak this plan to the media. Keep your head down and see you on the other side.
