Patrick Kennedy (D) RI Wins Primary Challenge

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Congressman Patrick Kennedy cruised to
the nomination against a lesser-known opponent.
Unofficial results had Kennedy defeating Providence storyteller
Mark Binder 75 to 25 percent.
Kennedy will face his 2002 challenger -- former Navy SEAL David
Rogers -- in November. Rogers was unopposed in his bid for the
G-O-P nomination.
Kennedy says he's thankful for his overwhelming win and he'll
campaign on health care and increasing jobs.
Congressman Jim Langevin also won his party's nod in the second
district primary. He was unopposed.
Langevin will face Republican Chuck Barton, of East Greenwich,
in November.
