4. Ummm... Jack Reed is a DEMOCRAT.
He's also a former Army Ranger, which probably helps explain his opposition to Rice over her endorsement of torture.

9. Reed's a pretty good guy
I've met him a few times... while I disagree with him on some things (he used to hate coming to my high school, because we have some really progressive teachers who would always slam him over support of Iraq sanctions), he is a generally good guy. I'm glad he voted against Rice.

I called up his office the night before the confirmation to say I wanted him to vote against her. I'm feeling like democracy almost works. ;)

12. When I was in fourth grade....
Reed came into the classroom and talked with us about being a senator. I don't really remember most of it, but it was kinda cool.
