Activists rally against the president in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. - At least 2,000 activists marched through downtown Portland on Thursday, to protest President Bush's inauguration, the Iraq war and the administration's economic and social policies.

Police said they arrested 13 protesters, but despite some tense moments, the situation stayed relatively peaceful.

Grandmothers and grandfathers, middle-age professionals, students and others took part in the march that wound through downtown. <snip>

When a marching middle-age protester was confronted by Bush supporters, he shook the American flag he was carrying in their face. <snip>

1. its nice to hear about these things.
the one in Eugene on thursday. someone went into the va building and smeared Sh*t on the walls. very gross. other then that my fried said that he was glad to see everyone out there.
