OK driver's license renewal warning -- email

I was just forwarded this email today...is this for real, or a hoax? Anyone else receive this?

--------------------------------

Just wanted to let everyone know about one aspect of the new Immigration Bill effective Nov 1st 2007…

If your driver’s license is expired, even one day, we cannot renew it. You must first go to a driver’s license examiner. At the examiner’s office you must present a STATE issued birth certificate or a US Passport. If you have had your name changed, (i.e. married or divorced or both) you must also provide legal documentation (marriage license, divorce decree, etc) attesting to that fact.

This process is a major headache. If you have been to an examiner’s office lately you will know how busy they already are, and in Shawnee they are only available Mon – Fri 8:00am to 11:30am; in the afternoon they are out doing driving tests. We have already had to send twenty to thirty customers to the examiner’s office…many have said they have waited several hours.

Check your DL expiration date and don’t let it expire! If it is expired… plan on spending at least half a day if not an entire day renewing it. Forward this on to others, especially those who live in a town without an examiner.

1. Not a hoax
The email isn't a hoax. There were several stories on local
newws broadcasts in the past week about how HB1804 has just
begun to complicate our lives.

Thanks to Randy Terrill and his great need to demonize a group of people, American citizens have to prove they are citizens. All those people ranting and raving about immigration are going to be disappointed when they too get caught up in this madness. I had to sign an affidavit, under penalty of perjury, in order to get my professional license. I can't wait to see all the doctors and lawyers etc. get caught up in this and start whining. People who were born on military bases overseas don't have birth certificates. I know a woman who has tried to get one for 5 years. She can't get a passport. The US government needs to take responsibility for this and fix it. I work in a dialysis unit. Under this law I'm required to turn in any illegal I know about. In my line of work, if I turn in a patient and they deport him or her they will die. Now these crazy people have made me a murderer. Terrill calls mexican babies born in the US anchor babies. These people supposedly believe in pro life. I guess if you demonize a group it's ok to call babies names. Military who have babies in Germany have babies who are German citizens because that is where they were born and that is the way it works in America. Randy's next great idea is English only in Oklahoma. Guess what, this will bring about the next great Indian uprising. With all the gambling in OK. owned by the Indians, this group is powerful. I want a ringside seat to this fight.
