Senator Coburn (R-OK) challenges Schiavo autopsy results
Chuck Todd, Hotline, reported live on CSPAN this morning that an Oklahoma newspaper is carrying a story quoting Coburn as saying the Schiavo autopsy is wrong, she was not brain dead.

Coburn, as I recall, is an OB/GYN, not a pathologist, and does not have access to the autopsy results.

I could not find anything in Google news. Does anyone have a Hotline account?

3. If he isn't, he should be! This guy is about as extreme RW as one
can get. There have been questions about his defrauding medicaid and performing un-authorized sterilizations on women.

2. My belief doesn't match reality therefor reality is wrong.
Typical of the low energy input thinking used by conservatives thinking.

4. I caught the tail in on C-Span
Couldn't remember Chuck Todd's name, his paper, but I got the gist of what he was reporting. I wrote on another thread -

Just caught the end of a report on C-Span saying that Tom Coburn
doesn't trust the final report on Shiavo. WTF? The guy who does the news in the paper - Capital Hill? - said there was a report that Coburn has reviewed Shiavo's medical records (he is a ob/gyn?) not the autopsy report and thinks there are discrepancies? Noted that he was not certified in pathology, etc. but doesn't agree with the findings. These guys are going to try and ride that poor woman's death for their own neocon agenda for the next 20 years.

Like I said, only caught the end - I had the sound turned down and hit the volume button to hear the tail end. Also said that his staff was caught off guard about his remarks and were trying to spin the remarks into a soft edge.

7. Carson wouldn't have been great...
...but he'd sure have been better than that nutjob Okie's got now, hell Bunning going senial and he'd have been better!

Had it not been a presidential year, I don't think that Coburn would have won, but to be honest Okie's pretty conservative these days yet despite that such a deep blue dog like Carson would have probably won in a midterm election.

8. Schiavo is case-closed--Coburn is an idiot, and way late on weighing in

When I was visiting in OKC last October, I watched that POS Coburn on TV. Even then there were reports that discredited him as an ethical physician. I thought at the time that MAYBE this would help OK to a wake-up call...sadly, I was wrong...the jerk was elected anyway.

Am seriously considering moving back to OKC after the first of the year...still have friends there...is where I grew up :) And, is more and more looking to be one of the few housing markets I can afford, and is in a climate I adore (I love the seasons and the wild weather!)

I'll be coming to OKC early this November. Maybe there are some of you OKC DU'ers who might want to get together at Cousins for a drink, or have a bite to eat at Johnny's on Britton Rd.??

on edit:
Came back to this thread to read again..and My Bad! I now see that the original post was from back in early July! Silly me!
