A Coingate Protest is being organized for Bush's visit to Ohio this Thursd
Bush is coming to town - and refusing to give back all of Tom Noe's dirty campaign money!

Help tell Ohioans that the days of 'pay-to-play' politics are over!

When: Thursday, June 9th 9AM-11AM
Where: 740 East 17th Avenue across from the Ohio Expo Center (if this location is blocked due to securtiy, please go to the secondary location: The McDonald's at the corner of Clara Ave and E. 17th Ave) - Columbus

WHY: A counter event (protest) to President Bush's visit.
There will be lots of pre-made signs to wave at the site

Democrats were expected to be outside to draw attention to an investment scandal involving Toledo-area coin dealer Tom Noe. They also plan news conferences in other cities across the state...

"What this scandal represents is a failure to effectively lead," said Dan Trevas, spokesman for Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman, one of two Democrats vying to replace Taft, who cannot run again because of term limits. "It represents allowing greedy corporate donors to enrich themselves while average Ohioans who work hard and play by the rules suffer, and I think that's also the general theme of the Bush presidency."

Democrats believe that if they can capture the governor's office next year for the first time since 1990, the party's presidential nominee will have a better shot at winning the state in 2008...

Republicans have held all statewide non-judicial offices for 10 years and control the Legislature. In addition, last year's presidential election came down to Ohio, with Bush winning by 118,000 votes...
