Well, they did it
Liberal radio is no more in Rochester. WROC has gone the way of all cowardly station owners--all sports. UGH! :puke: I'm glad I live southwest of the city; I can pick up Buffalo's liberal station instead. Stoopid WROC...

2. How unfortunate
that their necessary business decision came just two months before a critical election in a region where difficult House seats are at play. Some might say it was more than just one of those tragic coincidences.

Now it's just another trash sports station. At least I don't have to put up with hourly CNN news spots, the ugliest part of the whole 950 lineup.

I tried going back to NPR. God what puffery and pablum, what self censorship regarding anything remotely impolite toward the GOP talking points. News as easy listening. Your critical mind on drugs.

3. Listen to the real progressives online at Nova M Radio

The new home of Randi Rhodes! <http://www.novamradio.com/mod_streambox.php> They also have Thom Hartmann and Mike Malloy. Unless you're in the car. You might have to invest in XM for while you're driving.

Santa Barbara just lost their commercial progressive radio station (KIST) even though it had the best listenership of any talk station in the area. Clear Channel mysteriously sold it to a college which will be using it for NPR. Blech. Wonder if there'd been a sponsor boycott by the bigger companies that normally advertise on talk radio, even though they would reach large #'s? Otherwise why can't very popular progressive stations make the money less popular rw stations do.
