Corzine in 2008
There have been various rumors that our very own John Corzine could actually attempt a run for prez in 2008. It would actually be great, because he has an impeccable record and the fundraising abilities to win the nomination. However, I have my doubts sometimes, considering he's a senator, but it did make the list, albeit a crowded one, on Wikipedia.

1. I wanted Jon to run for Gov.
Not now. Stay in the senate and keep the watchfires burning. Jon has the gravitas needed for this long haul.

6. He has a beard and is from the North
The US hasn't elected a man with a beard in a very long time

3. Mixed feelings here
He'd be a great gov, but . . . I'd hate to see him leave the Senate.

5. Oh, and also...
Corzine voted against the war, but Andrews voted for it. If we put Andrews in the governor position, not only will his war declaring powers be limited, there could be another better representative running

9. Good analysis
Andrews would make a good gubernatorial candidate, and we really need Jon in the Senate at this point.

10. And think about it...
Since the whole city of Camden is in the district, that means we could even have another minority or otherwise progressive in the House (of course, the rest of the district is reliably democratic)

8. I don't think Corzine will run for President but..
as for his probable run as Governor of New Jersey, I wish he doesn't. The wide lead of the Republicans in the Senate makes me uneasy enough, and then they would be losing one of the better Dem Senators in Corzine on top of that. Of course, Corzine would make a fine Governor, so maybe it's all for the better. Still, I'd hope Codey can be a successful Governor for a year or Andrews can make a run at it.
