Talent panicked?? He is push-polling in KC, already
Got a phone call yesterday. Supposed to be for election polling. I could tell it was from a calling center (all the background noise).

The young lady asked if she could ask me a couple of questions, and it would only take a few minutes (you all know the pitch, right?).

I said, "Sure. But first, tell me who commissioned this poll."

"Sir, we are a call center. I am just calling. Would you answer the poll questions?"

"Sure, I'm happy to. But first, you all get paid to do this, so someone pays your company. Just let me know who that is and I'll be happy to talk".

She honestly didn't know what I was talking about, so she said, "Let me ask my supervisor. OK?"

She laid the phone down, and I heard her ask the supervisor. He said, "Uhhh.. tell him it's the League of Women Voters."

Girl came back on, repeated what I heard, and we proceeded with the questions. There were two multiple choice, and one direct question.

Although I can't remember the specifics of ALL the multiple choices, I got a shock when I heard the first question.

"Which of the following is the most important issue to you in the upcoming election?

1) Seeing that all employers can band together to buy health care insurance, and allow their employees to get insurance cheaper than other policies.

2) Repeal of the death tax.

3) Incentives to produce alternate sources of energy, such as ethanol?

Well, you all know where this came from, right? Or should that be Far Right??

The direct question, "In November will you vote for Claire McCaskill or Jim Talent?"

I answered, "The repeal of death tax is most important to me. And I will be voting for Jim Talent! (I sure don't want to be dropped from HIS call list).

The lady said "Thank you" and hung up. As soon as she was off the phone, I dropped a dime on Talent by calling the LOWV, and told them what I heard, and who to finger at Talent's campaign (Chrismer).

They (LOWV) called back last night (when I was out) and again this morning. Hope they hopped right on it.

But the message to us is, Talent must be sweating bullets. So keep the pressure on.

1. I got the same call in St. Louis
I asked who was paying for this poll. She said she didn't know. She asked the same two questions.
