And do we have a chance to win that seat back when Haley Barbor is term limited out.

1. A lot of us thought that Jim Hood
would run, but he's taken himself out. I can't say that I blame him; Bryant will be tough to beat. I'm guessing it will be someone relatively unknown, like a North Mississippi lawyer or legislator. It might be good to have a fresh face. Anyway, I have some family who are well connected in the state party. Next time I talk to one of them I'll ask them if anybody's been chosen yet and I'll post their answer here.

3. Now I'm afraid he might be our next Senator
after Cochran retires. Barbour is a snake.

4. I hope not...
He's always seemed to have his eye on the White House. It simply didn't occur to me that he may become our senator. I do not understand this man's popularity.

6. There is a lot of talk about him and the White House, but
that is so out of his league IMO. He would have a chance as Senator though.

5. Johnny DuPree, the mayor of Hattiesburg,
has announced. DuPree is Hattiesburg's first black mayor. Another possible Democratic candidate is Bill Luckett, a lawyer from Clarksdale. I was told that it's still too early to tell who will be the nominee. http://www.clarionledger.com/article/20100421/NEWS/100420062/1001/NEWS
