Sen. Dayton not running for re-election...
Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 01:09 PM by tokenlib
Now being reported on WCCO and other local media in Minnesota. I'd give links but I'm leaving for work. This kind of sucks..or does it?
I'm stunned.

7. I think that he could have been easily defeated by a candidate
hand picked by Karl Rove.

I hope that the DFL will take a long look at who should replace him. Minnesota of 2004 is not the Minnesota of 1992 that sent Paul Wellston to D.C. As much as we protested on these pages, Kerry did not take the state that easily and the problem was not so much the message as the messenger and we dedicated many keyboard clicks on this issue on these pages.

We just moved to the state then, but I remember a woman running against Moe for the nomination for governor. Judy Deutch? Who is she? Should she be considered?

8. Dayton
Dayton said he wouldn't run again as he knew that he could not rely on support from other Dems.

But that's the way the DNC is going. Ever since the 2000 election when it abandoned Gore and let him run unsupported by Clinton and others. For some reason, Dems just refuse to work together thereby allowing the Rpeublicans to take over and to fuck the USA.
